A PRETTY QUIET DAY TODAY.......

There were not outings today...
We spent the morning doing school work...
Max is super keen and is very happy to sit up at the table and get it all done..
He surprises me in how focused he is whilst doing it....
He likes to be on the go all the time so I really thought that he  would want to be on the move...
Mind you he does have a great incentive....
Once the work in his little workbook is done, he gets to have my iPad and do some reading eggs....

Learning the letter B
Then he has some tracing of numbers to do from his Kindergarten....
He is pretty good with his numbers,  he can recognize them all to at least 10...

He doesn't enjoy writing though, so we are doing a lot of tracing at the moment to try and strengthen his fine motor...  He is still not sure whether to use his right or left hand, although he is starting to favour his right hand....  He will still occasionally try and use his left hand to write...

He is loving my dot paint markers and loves to do these pages using them... He has no trouble recognizing his numbers and can do these pages very quickly,  He is so proud of his efforts.
Cutting is also another thing that Max struggles with, but I have been working on that with him also... I have found some pictures he can cut up and then reassemble and glue into his work book.  He seems to love these and really concentrates and takes his time to try and cut them carefully.  At first I was helping to hold the piece of paper for him, but the last couple of days he has wanted to do this on his own... He is very independent....

Meanwhile Willow will just breeze through her English, but doesn't enjoy her maths so much and whinges about having to do it.  She manages it fine but just has to have a positive mindset towards her maths.  The one incentive I have for her to get it all done is that once her school work is completed she gets free iPad time for half an hour...
Enjoying her iPad time...

Meanwhile whilst Willow was enjoying her iPad time,  I was priming some rocks so that we could do some rock painting whilst they are staying with us....
Max was keen to do some as well... He had seed pods and rocks to paint and was quite busy getting his work done.  He is such a funny little boy and comes out with the funniest things.... He really cracks me up.
Busy painting his seed pods...

It has been another lovely day, with another beautiful sunset...
and then tonight we have been blessed by the last super moon for 2020....
We are supposed to be taking the children back to the Sunny Coast tomorrow but their mum ran tonight to see if the kids would like to stay for another week...
Whilst Willow has been really missing her mum, and has been quite anxious during this coronavirus isolation stage, we were able to convince her that Poppy wanted to spend more time with them on the weekend and do some special things with them if they would like to stay on...

In the end, the were both happy to stay and I am so glad they have, as we have had such a wonderful time with them on the weekend and Willow is so much more settled and much happier than when she first came to us.  Being up here is more like a holiday and she isn't faced with the changes that the coronavirus has caused to her everyday life like she is when back at home and not able to do her normal weekly activities
