AND THE CHILDREN GO BACK TO SCHOOL...

The kids have all gone back to school...
After almost two months at home, they are back in the classroom..
It's hard to believe that schools were closed...
Never in my lifetime has this happened before...
Never have kids had so much time off school before....
Even our longest set of school holidays is only 6 weeks...

It has been great to see the teachers of my school though go to great lengths to make the kids feel special and also to let them know that they were keen for them to come back...
Last week, they put a video together to welcome our students back... 
I even got in on the act and I am not even going back..

I got a call from our Guidance Officer to see if I would be happy to be involved in a video they wanted to put up on facebook...  There appartently was a line in the song they wanted to do that related to "Seniors" not coming back, and they considered me to be a Senior who was retiring so I wouldn't be back.. I am sure the original song was talking about senior students who wouldn't be coming back, but hey they had a part for me and I played it....

This video appeared on the school's homepage towards the end of last week, and then on the first day back at school, they had all these signs out to welcome our students back....
They even had a small gift for the parents....

 Staff were downstairs to greet students, with bubbles and streamers and balloons just as if it were a big party..
They were certainly very glad to see their students come back to school and I am sure the parents and students felt the love.....

 There was lots of love for the parents also as staff handed them a little gift of a tea bag and some biscuits thanking them for the "Tea-riffic" job they had done managing their children's learning during their time away from the classroom...

 So proud of my fellow work mates and they way they have all worked together during this difficult time... for the way they have turned a quite stressful time into a time of fun and team building...
Whilst I am enjoying my retirement... I really do miss this great bunch of people...
