I have been busy sewing this past week..
When we travel one of the frustrating things particularing when doing your laundry is that you never have a trolley which means your washing basket and peg bag sits on the ground and you are constantly bending down to get washing and pegs off the ground..
When one has back issues, this becomes a bit of a problem, so I decided to do something about the peg size of things for starters and decided to make a vintage peg apron. At least this way don't have to keen bending down to get pegs, I can just collect them from my apron...
When telling my daughter what I was making, so wanted me to make one for her also, as she doesn't have a laundry trolley at home either. Well if I am making one for her I might as well make one for my other daughter as well..

Couldn't resist buying this caravan material... |
Once I found this material I decided that I would also make one for my friend Kathy as they often travel with us... As it is her birthday this week, I have decided to make it for her for her birthday..
First I needed to research how to make these... Pinterest is my new best friend...
I found his You Tube clip and her measurements to create a pattern...
Once I had watched this a couple of times, I set about creating a pattern and cutting it out ready to sew...

Then it was time to set up my machine and start sewing,,

practice run with the girl's aprons firest... |
Pretty happy with the way they turned out, although for the next ones I make I will fine tune it slightly and sew on the bias they way I have done it previously rather than by the way the video showed you.
On hindsight, if I were to make them again, I would use a wider bias binding tape too..

ties at the back.. |
Once these first two were finished, then I started on the caravan ones for myself and Kathy, and I sewed the bias on the way I have done previously. Much better and much neater and way more secure....

Peg Aprons for myself and my friend Kathy for our vans... |

And a spare.... also caravan print.... |
I must say they were very easy to sew and I am very happy with the finished product....
One of the other things I added to my pattern was a little loop in the middle of the apron...
This is so that you can hang it from a hook in your laundry to make sure that it is kept neat and tidy and also to keep the pegs from falling out if it was just left lying around...
