CIRCLE OF FRIENDS MORNING TEA GOT MARRED BY THE WEATHER....

This week, the girls had planned to meet at Queen's Park in Rocky for morning tea an then go for a walk around the park and across the railway bridge...

As we always share morning tea together,  I get to do some baking... I don't bother baking for just Steve and I as neither of us need to eat cake, but it is nice to bake something nice or different to take to our ladies morning tea.  This week I decided to make a "Hummingbird Cake".  It was very popular.

'The day started off quite warm, especially when we first got up but by 9am the weather started to deteriorate with a bit of a cold front coming in and a drizzle of rain.

Dianne asked me to pick up one of the ladies as she lived just down the road from me and we were all meeting at Queen's Park.

By the time we got there there was quite a bit of drizzle and we even wondered whether it was worth staying...  There were a couple of under covered areas so in the end we decided to stay and have morning tea there but there would be no walk today...

Some of the ladies were already set up for morning tea by the time we got there...
We always enjoy a lovely morning tea together..

Marg bought freshly baked scones
By 10.30am the weather was really turning miserable and we were all feeling a little on the cold side, so we decided to call the morning at the park over.

As we had finished early, some decided to head off and explore some of the op shops.  Marg, Joyce and Coral ended up coming back to my place where we had a game of "Five Crowns".
Wednesday was such a busy day for me as that night I was catching up with all the Allies Girls I have previously worked with...
It was a girls night out..
Not the best night to be going out as it was cold and wet...
My friend Jannett had come home to our place to get ready rather than driving down to the beach after work and then trying to rush back into town again to go out that evening...
We had a lovely meal out at the Kalka Hotel..
It wasn't a late night as it was still quite wet and windy and Jannett needed to drive back down to the beach...

I was happy to come home early and sit in font of here....
It was so nice to come home and settle down in front of the fire...
The weather was atrocious...
But I wasn't going to the complain as we desperately needed the rain...
