ROAD TRIPPING....
We took off to Bundy for the weekend....
We really haven't been able to spend much time with Steve's parents since COVID hit and as they are getting on in year, you never know how much time we have our parents with us for...
I know this because I lost my precious Dad earlier this year and it all happened in the blink of an eye
One day he was given a clean bill of health and within a week he was gone... How do you prepare for that....
We got up early Saturday morning and took off....

Early morning start as we headed down the highway... |
it always gives us a good chance to catch up and just chat...
We had a good run all the way through to Miriam Vale.
Steve's leg was hurting a little and thankfully we had a tennis ball in the car that he was able to use to release the tension in his leg muscle...
I also needed a toilet stop so we decided to stop in Miriam Vale, indulge in some crab sandwiches for breakfast and just take time out to stretch and have a bit of a walk around....

crab sandwiches for breakfast |
These sandwiches are expensive but my gosh they are good.
It is a bit of a treat to pick some up when passing through Miriam Vale...
We savoured every mouthful..
We were probably there for about half an hour..
After eating, we had a little wander around the park...
There were some lovely flowering plants around the park...

Beautiful the way this flower unfolds from it's bud form.. |

On our way into Bundy, we dropped off at our favourite strawberry farm to pick up a punnet of the sweetest and largest strawberries.
We always love to stop in here when we visit Bundy.
We would stop in here again when we left to head home....
Our time in Bundy was pretty busy. We went straight to Steve's parents to visit them as they were the main reason we came to visit. They had a few jobs that they needed some help with.
Steve needed to help them finishing building a new fence.
His parents really do come alive whenever we go to visit...
Steve spent most of the afternoon helping out ticking off the list of jobs...
We left around 5.30pm to go visit his brother who has been going through cancer treatment this year.
Dave had his final treatment a week ago, so it was great to see him looking so good, much better than when we had last seen him.
Normally we would stay with Steve's parents when we visit, but this visit we decided to stay with my sister Jude and her husband John. I think our days of staying with Steve's parents have almost come to an end. It is almost too much for Steve''s mum now. Whilst she loves to see us, they are slowing down and often in so much pain that staying with them, is almost too much for her.
We had a lovely evening with my sister and brother in law... we sat and talk well into the night.
Sunday morning we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast with them before Steve headed back over to his parents... He still had a few jobs he wanted to do for them, mainly weeding the garden, and fixing his parents computer.
Jude and I went out to Sugarland to do a bit of shopping and pick up a few supplies for our return trip home that afternoon. Jude then dropped me back to Steve's parents place and stopped in and had a cuppa with us and some lunch. She had made us a lovely Lemon and poppy seed cake for supper the evening before and had sent the rest of it over with Steve for his parents. She also made them some Mango sorbet as well.
We had hoped to get away a little after lunch but in the end it was closer to 4pm before we finally left.
We had one last stop in Bundy before heading home...
Yep you guessed it, we were headed back to the strawberry farm to replenish our supplies to take back to Rocky.
Our trip home was a pretty good run.... Had a coupe of light showers but the sun did come out and there was a nice sunset which we enjoyed together...
