BRENDA'S 50TH BIRTHDAY
I know lots of people with birthdays today...
But today was a special day for my friend Brenda....
She turned 50 today. I remember a group of us going out to celebrate her 40th birthday and it doesn't seem that long ago. Her daughter Amy organised a special girls luncheon for her to celebrate today. It was mainly attended by close friends and family..
It was a surprise for her, especially having her sisters drive up from Toowoomba to surprise her....
And a lovely surprise it was....
Her luncheon was held at the Allies not far from me...
We had an upstairs function room so we had it all to ourselves which made it good for us as it enabled us to mingle and move from table to table to catch up with everyone all whilst social distancing...
There were lots of photos taken..
Brenda with family, Brenda with friends and then a group photo of everyone...

The friend photos came next....
Our meals were lovely... quite big, too big for me these days and I only managed to eat half of it... The dressing though really made the meals, it had both a sweet and tangy taste to it and I wish I could have finished it... maybe I should have asked for a doggy bag to take it home...

I had a roast pumpkin salad with grilled herb chicken |

The girls seated next to me had the same except with calamari instead of chicken. |
It was quite a leisurely lunch with plenty of opportunities for chatting. We had a couple of Brenda's work friends and cancer friends seated with us and they were lovely ladies. I enjoyed chatting to them...
After we had eaten it was time to cut the cake. The cake was our desert. It was a beautiful white chocolate mud cake...
