GROWING FLOWERS...

I've always loved colour and flowers....

I'm not a great gardener, but now that I have retired, and have a little more time,  I have decided that I want to grow flowers, colourful flowers.  I want to grow petunias, and pansies, and violas and even sweet peas, although I haven't got around to getting any of them yet...

I am working on one garden at a time,  I figured that if I can manage to get one garden to look good and colourful I can then start to work on some of our other gardens..

I was a little excited to come home from our retreat and find so many beautiful flowers, flowering in my garden....

Loving my pansies,  love the richness of colour... We have a lot more rain in the last 24 hours so looking forward to seeing the extra growth that will come about because of this.

Initially I just bought to different colour petunias,  two rich coloured petunias, but I have since been back and bought another two different ones,  these are the same colours as these two I have planted but they are these colours with a white strip so I am really looking forward to them flowering and seeing the plants grow into each other to provide a mass of colour..

My first lot of violas where the light purple with lemon and white centres and they have flowered profusely since I planted them.  A week or so ago I added the almost black ones and they are quite stunning in their own way.  Today I bought some more and these ones are a mixed bag of all sorts of colours so I am really looking forward to seeing them flower and seeing what colours I have managed to get...

I really love these orange and pink daisy sort of flowers and I had a hard time deciding between this one and some pretty yellow ones.... The yellow ones are on my list to still get for another part of the garden.

My lavender has just started flowering... Today after the rain there are a lot more flowers on my bush...  We paid a visit to Bunnings today and picked up a few more plants to plant in my garden...  Now to learn how to mix the native plants that Steve loves and the flowering kind that I love...

Watch this space for more photos from my garden...
