A SHORT STAY - THEY HEAD HOME TODAY....
Unfortunately the kids could only spare two nights up at the beach with us... Being so close to Christmas live for them is busy, so I am so very thankful to have had these couple of days with them...
They were very excited this morning when they woke up to find that Skittles had got one of Steve's sharpie pens and drawn all over our eggs... Ah this elf has had some adventures this year...
Sarah Latham and Pip came this morning so that they could say goodbye to our Sarah and the children... They had bought Christmas presents for the kids, so once they were gone, both Willow and I set about helping Max to build his lego cars. He loved helping and was trying to read the instructions and find the pieces for us...Sarah wanted to head into Bundy this morning and do a little last minute shopping without the children, so we offered to have them. Max was really keen to have a go riding the pedal carts, so Steve took them over to reception to hire a couple for an hour...
We were a bit worried about whether Max would handle them as they seemed pretty big, but he took to it like a duck to water....
Max had no trouble peddling the cart but still needed to do some work with learning how to steer it. Whilst he was peddling straight down the road he did well, initially he needed one of us to help him turn it around...It was so much fun for us to see the kids having some much fun. They really are at a good age and very enjoyable to be around...
By the time Sarah got back from town it was lunch time, so we had a quite bite to eat and she took off to head home...
Earlier in morning we had pulled down the annex and packed it all away in readiness for when we leave the following morning... with all this being now done, we decided to head into Bundy ourselves and catch up with my sister Jude and her husband John. We hadn't had a chance to catch up too much with them as most of our time this visit was spent with the Latham side of the family..
We had a couple of hours with them before heading back over to Steve's parents, as we still had a trailer load of rubbish to take to the dump before we take off home the following day...
The plan was also to have a farewell chicken dinner with Steve's folk and also Shane and Sarah before everyone left the following day...
It really has been a great week. It has been great for Steve to spend time with his brothers, and I really do hope that we do it more often..
