CELEBRATING MARG'S 70TH BIRTHDAY..
A very good friend of our's celebrates her 70th birthday this weekend, and we are going to be away in Bundaberg so were not able to attend her party...
We did want to celebrate and honor her though, so we have invited her along with Talitha, a young girl from church who is living to go and serve the Lord in PNG. She leaves next Tuesday, so today was also the last chance we have to say good bye to her also....
Marg had a preference to go to the BBQ Box for her Birthday luncheon. She is so thoughtful and has such a servant heart. The reason she wanted to go here was because the guy that owns it was a good friend of one of Marg's boarders, and she was telling Marg how tough he has been doing it since Covid, so she wanted to support him...
Mind you it was a good choice... Reasonably price and good value....
It was a good chance for both Marg and us to catch up with Talitha and hear about her plans for her trip to PNG, and to hear how the Lord has called her to serve him...
It was great to hear about her excitement and apprehension about this big change in her life and it also allows us to be much more constructive in our praying for her...
It wasn't long before the meal was served. Talitha and I had the same meal, only mine was chicken and hers was beef, and both Steve and Marg had the pork ribs. All of us would be happy enough to come back here o eat again. The service was excellent as well and they do a lunch time special price...
It was a very pleasant couple of hours and Marg seemed pretty happy with her plant..Steve and I have had a very busy and social week this week...
Time to head home... We have a lot of packing to do as we head off again tomorrow heading to Bundaberg to visit family and celebrate a Latham Christmas. It is probably close to 30 years since we have had a Latham Christmas and I must say I am looking forward to it...
