DINNER WITH JOHN & BARB ON THE SUNSHINE COAST..
My very dear friend Barb has waited all year to have their new home built and were due to move into it whilst we were in Brisbane. She was keen for us to see it so we decided to stop in at our home on the Sunshine Coast overnight so that we could catch up with them, check out their new home and celebrate my birthday with them also....
We had a few jobs to do at home before we joined them, so completed them and headed down to John and Barb around 5pm which still gave us some daylight hours to check out their new residence...
As John and Barb were still busy shifting into their new home and were pretty tired, we decided to go out to dinner instead. They took us to "Driftwood", a lovely restaurant at the Rivershore Caravan Park at Maroochydore. The restaurant overlooks the resort style pool which is all lit up at night creating a lovely ambience for the restaurant..
The food was very reasonably priced and was good and it is one place we would be happy to go back to for a meal...
John and Barb had pizza's, whilst Steve and I shared a lovely seafood fettuccine and we added some spring rolls as an entree. We decided to share our meal as it was quite big and we are now used to eating smaller meals...

John and Barb both ordered these pizzas... |
The food was delicious.
The restaurant and reception area of the caravan park was tastefully decorated and had these beautiful flowers in the foyer...
From here we went back to John and Barb's and stopped off at the pool area on the way so that we could check it out... When we are down on the coast at the end of January and February, both Barb and I plan to swim together most days, so it was good to check out the pool and entertainment area at their complex...
We decided that we would walk back to John and Barb's once we had checked the facilities out, so John drove home to put the kettle on for a cuppa for when we got back...
We walked home and Steve used the wide angle feature on his new phone to take some photos of their new home...
Time for a cuppa and then we were heading home... John and Barb were tired from all their moving and unpacking and we needed an early night as we had the long drive home the following day,...
We love catching up with these guys. They are very dear friends and a lot of fun to hang out with. We are looking forward to having an extended holiday on the coast early in 2021 and spending time with them..
