MY BIRTHDAY.....
It has been years and years since I have spent my birthday with our kids... Since Willow wanted us down for her birthday we decided to stay on through to my birthday so that I could celebrate with those I love the most...
It was a pretty busy Day, we spent a good part of the day shopping, getting my birthday present seen too, and then at night we had a family dinner out at Glen Hotel at Eight Mile Plains in Brisbane...
Our good friends, Ian and Kathy joined us also...
Sarah had organised the evening and made the booking... It was a little different to anything we have experienced before. We had to pay a $20 deposit for each person attending, before they would accept the booking... If we didn't turn up then, our credit card would be charged for each person that didn't attend... The card would only be charged if someone didn't show...
This hotel is huge and has several rather large dining areas. We were in a lovely area that was almost outside. It was under cover area and had plastic shades that dropped down to keep the air cool..
Dan and Chloe were a little late arriving as they had visitors arrive an hour or so before we were due to leave, but the rest of us were there on time and we were able to order their meals for them so that when they arrived their meals would be ready...
It was great to be out with family, such a long long long time since I have been able to celebrate with them... Might try to do this a little more often now that we are retired...
One of the things I wanted to do was have photos taken with them all also...
It was nice to get some family photos of Sarah and her family as we don't seem to have too many photos of them all together...
It was so good also that our good friends Ian and Kathy were able to join us and we got some photos with them also...
Steve also managed to snap a few photos with the girls. These are precious to me...
We actually had a lot of fun. Chloe had some apps on her phone that made funny faces of us all when she took our photos... The kids especially loved it when she gave them animal ears and changed their faces. She had another app that also used our faces to show us what we would have looked like as a baby... The kids thought it was hilarious and there were lots of laughs all around...
It was almost 9pm before we left which was slightly later than we planned especially as the children still had school and Kindy the following day.
We didn't have a cake at the restaurant, as with COVID, you are not encouraged to bring food in from an outside source, so Dan and Chloe organised an ice cream birthday cake for me for when we arrived home...
It has been a wonderful day. I have been spoilt all round, earrings, candles, a new iwatch, paint pens were just some of my birthday gifts. So glad that I got to spend this birthday with family...
