Retaining Wall

Well another weekend has come and gone....
Another busy week ahead. After 12 months of being in a temporary Library, we are finally getting to move back into our new renovated Library.... what a lot of work but I am looking forward to when it is all done. Meanwhile I have been off class so haven't had a chance to work with kids this past week and probably won't again this week. That has been a good thing as I recover from this flu... it means I haven't had to strain my voice by lots of talking. Still I have been coming home exhausted most nights from all the lifting and bending and cleaning. A nice tiredness though.

We have had a pretty easy August, and it has been good to slow down a little as we are heading into a very busy September, with 80th Birthday celebrations for my Dad, a couple of weddings and my cousin's 50th Birthday party which we are travelling to Sydney to attend. (A good excuse for a two week caravaning holiday again)

Meanwhile Steve has been busy doing this.
This wall was started whilst we were on our big holiday last year. Unfortunately with all the rain, in the first five months of this year, finishing it had to be put on hold. Steve is busy trying to get it finished before we get a wet season again.
He has really enjoyed being outside getting his hands grubby. Another weekend should see it all finished.

Whilst he was busy doing this, I spent the afternoon with the girls scrapbooking. Well I didn't manage to get any scrapbooking done but I did manage to make these cards. Sorry that the photos are a little average.

And these ones I used some scrap bits of paper I had.

Had a little play with the cricut when doing these couple of cards. Didn't know whether I need 1/2" lettering or 3/4" letting. Definately think I like the smaller lettering better.
I need to re stock up on cards again, as I have used quite a few lately. I also need to get some photos developed so that I can catch up on the mountain of scrapbooking I need to do to get up to date.

Had a bit of a chill out night last night. Sleeps overs and movic watching.
Washing all got done and now I have a mountain of this to fold.
Even managed to fit in a little shopping. I got another pair of these
Expensive, but they are SO SO soft and fit like cushioned gloves to my feet. My second pair of them. I bought a pair last year before we went on our big trip and I pretty much live in them.

Since we love Wraps in this household, I'm looking forward to trying out a few new ones.

My all time favourite mug at the moment.
Picked this one up on one of my girls weekends away.

I've been having a bit more of a play with a new collage software programme I have been using and have come up with these.

And just because we are about to go away on a caravaning holiday again, I had a play with cararavans.
And because Steve loves boats, I did one for him too.
This afternoon I was going back through my JOY journal I did a couple of years ago. I am so glad that I did it, and I am so glad that I was able to look back through it as it certainly has encouraged me to once again look around and appreciate the everyday awesome thing and the everyday beauty that is all around me.
