All the Flowers
So much has happened in the last week.... it feels like the time has been a lifetime....
It is hard to beleive that already 4 days have passed since Mum's funeral. As much as I dreaded the day, it really was a beautiful service. The Pastors from Lifepointe Baptist were just wonderful and made the day a real day of celebration for my Mum. The funeral was huge with about 3oo attending. This was kind of a shock for us, we caught up with folk and family we haven't seen for a long time. Hopefully we have renewed some friendships and we are looking forward to catching up with folk when we are back on the Sunshine Coast in three weeks time.
We received some beautiful flowers last week and just wanted to keep a record of some of them.
These beautiful flowers came from Paul Neville MP. He is originally from Bundaberg and worked on the Development Board with my Dad. Paul even made the trip to attend Mum's funeral.
These beautiful flowers came The Bundaberg City Council. My Dad was the Mayor, and my Mum the Mayoress in Bundaberg for over 6 years before they retired and moved to the Sunshine Coast.
I really loved this arrangement. It was so different. They came from Lenard's Chickens. They were a lovely surprise.
These lovely flowers came from my neice's friend Molly from Toowoomba. She blessed our family with these lovely flowers.
These lovely flowers came from my second cousin Chrissie and her husband Merv. They had planned to come to the Funeral except that Merv was out of town for work. We really appreciated their throughtfulness and all their prayers.
These beautiful flowers came from my good friend Barb. The fragrance was beautiful.
These beautiful roses came from the family... My Mum loved red roses, and Dad would always have one on the table from the garden for her whenever they were in bloom. We all wanted to take a red rose to the funeral in memory of our very loved and precious Mum
The following flowers were provided by Integrity Funerals - the funeral directors for Mum's funeral. I couldn't recommend them highly enough. They were wonderful. Very sensitive to our needs, and the final tribute was a march of respect with the hearse following as they left the church. It was very moving and something we didn't expect. They did a magnificent job with the flowers. My Mum would have loved them. They were so fragrant and of course contained her favourite flowers.
And finally we we arrived home yesterday we found these beautiful flowers on our door step.
They were sent by The Rockhampton Grammar School. A lovely surprise and they are now gracing our dining room table.
Just wanted to include a copy of the Order of Service from Mum's memorial service also. There are so many things that have happened in the last few weeks. Special memories that I want to record but they will have to wait for another post.
On Sunday we farewelled our son Pete who left on a five month holiday travelling through South America and the USA. Will share the photos of Pete's departure in the next post.
