He's off to Peru
It has been an emotionally charged weekend with Mum's funeral on Friday and then we were off to Brissie to farewell our big boy as he headed overseas for 5 months. I wasn't quite ready to let him go. I hadn't had time to process his going so soon after loosing my Mum. I think it was hard for him too.
I am excited for him also though. He is off to work with Projects Abroad in Peru for the next couple of months. This month he is working in an Eco Rainforest in the Amazon. We are unable to contact him. That is a bit scary in itself. I know it will be an amazing experience for him. Next month he is going to be working on an archelogical dig up near Machu Picchu.
Our last cuddles for the next five months. It was so good that we could all be there to see Pete off.
Off through customs and ready to board his flight from Gate 82.
His last conversations with us had to be done via his phone. We love you Pete and are missing you already.
His plane taxi-ing down the runway.
After his two months stint with Projects Abroad, he is off to travel around South America for a month or so before flying into the USA for a few weeks travelling through the States.
This is one big adventure for him.... I am sure he will love it but we will miss him dreadfully.
