SHOCK HORROR SHOCK..... I SCRAPPED
I finally scrapped a layout.... Well finished a layout. I started this layout way back in November, and have only finished the layout on the weekend.... The best part about it was that I really enjoyed my play with paper....
Now I need to make a dent in the big pile of photos sitting on my desk. We have our scrap retreat in six weeks time, so I can see that some planning is in order so that I can get a heap done whilst we are away.
Got some great photos of my new plant. It is flowering, it is such an unusual plant. I really love it.Would love to get another one, but can't find any. No one seems to have heard of them. It really is quite spectactular.
Got a few other photos to share Dad has been finding it hard since we have lost Mum. My youngest sister has spends time with him each week, and lately they have been heading down to the beach play
They play Oldies games.... it is lovely to see the kids playing on the swing and then Dad and Lea sitting playing board games. It is also great to see Dad getting out and enjoying the beautiful Queensland sunny weather and our lovely beaches.
When we were home and were cleaning out, we came accross my Mum's wedding gown. One of my nieces was delighted to inherit it and has shared some photos of her wearing my Mum's gown.
A couple of photos of my Baby, I love this first photo of Chloe
This next one was just a fun photo taken on St. Paddy's Day when they celebrated. Kind of cute.
Finally, this is Pete's last week in the Amazon at Taricaya. He has loved his time there, even extending his stay an extra week. Some final shots of his time there. We've spoken to him on the phone and he sounds so happy, so I know it has been a wonderful experience for him.
This next photo took my fancy, it was a Swing Bar, they came across in town at Puerto Maldonado.
Quite the imagination I would say.
And finally, just a few shots of the wildlife that Pete has been working with at Taricaya.
The wonderful bird life.
The monkeys
Other exotic animals.
Life in Peru.....
This weekend he leaves Taricaya and heads to Cusco before heading to Huyro where he will do some volunteer work on the Inca Projects. The work that volunteers are involved in consists of three main areas; archaeology, community work and expeditions. Volunteers live in a community house close to the centre of Huyro with a family of Projects Abroad staff that will cook and look after you. Volunteers are very much part of the Huyro community. This was the project that he was really looking forward too, but has already cut it short a week by staying at Taricaya.
After this project he heads off on a 4-5 Trek to Machu Picchu. That should be amazing. It is one of the things I would love to do in my lifetime.
