NATALIE'S 30TH BIRTHDAY BASH

Wow I am so far behind with my blogging.
January has been a busy month,  but I have had a well earned computer break over the last week whilst we have been cruising the channels and estuaries behind the Gold Coast where we have enjoyed a much needed break with lots of relaxing and restoration.
More of that to come..
We left the Sunshine Coast and headed to Toowoomba on the 12th to help my niece celebrate her 30th Birthday.
This was her first ever birthday party and she was going to enjoy every minute off it.
It was a great night although stinking hot... which was a little disappointing as she had organised a bush dance to celebrate her big 30.....
This birthday girl was ready to party....

The surroundings were really lovely,  so much room, a really country feel to it.  The only drawback was that it was held in a corrugated iron barn, and with the 40 degree heat we had all day, the heat was still radiating underneath it at 9pm at night which made the bush dancing very hot and sweaty work...  Most adults chose to sit out in the open
Beautiful country surroundings with plenty of room to play - very family orientated...
Nat had hired this great band for the evening.  "The Smashing Bumpkins" and they were awesome.  So good and lots of fun...
The Smashing Bumplkins doing their thing...
Nat had gone to heaps of try to decorate it with a county theme.  I loved the little lamp vases she made and had hanging.  I took heaps of photos of them.  They looked so cool.
Loved these little vases she made out of old light bulbs.
She had lots of flowers and natives flowers on tables too.
She really did have the place looking lovely.
The sunset was amazing, and I had to capture it... The colours ranged from a purpely mauve to apricots and pinks and yellows and golds.... It was just beautiful.
Amazing sunset
It really was good to catch up with family and friends and meet new friends
Our family minus Chloe who didn't make it.
Cousins getting together
Good friends and family

She had lots of help in the kitchen and they cooked up a storm.... more food than you could possibly eat....
Kitchen hands.
There was plenty of dancing happening and the littlies in particular really enjoyed it.
Plenty of dancing happening

The kids especially enjoyed it.
She had a special friend make her birthday cake and a lot of the deserts that were on her desert table....

Here she is blowing out her candles.....
Cake Cutting time...
Just some of the desert selections...
Other than the heat it was a great night and these guys were really good.

I think I have seen Toowoomba at it's extremes now.  When I worked for USQ and spent a week in Toowoomba each winter it was bitterly cold.  I never would have beleived that it could also get so hot    The one good thing about the place though, it looked beautiful.... everything was so lush and green.  Unlike the rest of the state, they have obviously had some rain up there because it looked beautiful... Will be back soon to share the photos from Nat's birthday breakfast which had a venue change from the party venue back up the mountain to Picnic Point.
