THE MORING AFTER THE BIG BASH.....

We were all supposed to return to the party venue the next morning for a big birthday breakfast bash.  Quite a few of the guests chose to camp over at the venue.  A few of us with a bit more sense chose to go back to Toowoomba and stay in air conditioned comfort....

At about 7.30am the following morning we all got text messages letting us know that they were bringing breakfast back up the mountain and to meet at Picnic Point for the great cook off...
A much more sensible idea as the temperature on the Sunday was expected to exceed 40 degrees, and although it was very hot on the mountain it was still guaranteed to be at least 2 to 3 degrees cooler up there.

By the time we got there the boys were busy doing this.....

Cooking up a storm for Breakfast
It was great to catch up with the girls... They really do enjoy spending time together.  Love how they still have these close connections even though they are all grown up now....
Cousins and friends
Natalie with her best friend Cheryl

The kids had a ball.... they met other kids and played on the playground... Love how kids just have a spontaneous way about them when meeting and playing with new people... I am sure that is why we as adults make more friends when we have younger children...

Kids being kids

They met a lady in the park who had a handbag pig..... she was very good to the kids as they all crowded around her and wanted nurses and pats.  She was very accommodating and they all had cuddles...
Still others were connect to cuddle our gorgeous grand daughter Willow

Still the Brother in laws enjoyed catching up and having a good yarn together
John and Steve
We got to meet Hannah's good friend Joe and his gorgeous little girl Lily.....

Had to get photos of some of Natalie's other friends and family too.

The Sunshine Coast contingent....
Natalie didn't really get a chance to open her gifts the night before so she spent some time after breakfast opening her gifts with everyone... Her best friend Cheryl had prepared a little poem for Natalie and her 30 gifts for her to open (to match her age).  Each gift had some significance in regards to their friendship.... It was well thought out and well done, and provided lots of entertainment for us all as we tried to guess the riddles...

It was almost lunch time before we got away.  We headed straight back to Brissie.  No air conditioning in our car and the trip home was horrendous.  It would have easily been 42 degrees and probably a lot hotter in the car.  We had to stop half way home for a good half hour or more at  a Service Station that had a McDonalds.  Didn't eat anything but had a nice long cold drink... We just needed to cool down...

By the time we got back to Brissie, we almost felt like passing out....
We couldn't stop though...
I had a bit grocery shop to do to get ready for our houseboat holiday the next day...
Regardless of the heat,  it was still good to go up to Toowoomba and share Natalie's special birthday with her.  It was great to catch up with cousins, and nieces and nephews.  They are very special folk in our lives and we love them dearly...
