A NIGHT ON THE GOLD COAST...

Another weekend comes and goes....
already last night seems like a zillion light years away....
Yesterday morning we caught an early morning flight to Brisbane,
We were picked up at airport by our driver who transported us to the Gold Coast....
We had a meeting to attend, and then the rest of the afternoon and evening was out own...
We got to stay at this wonderful place...

Sheraton Mirage - Gold Coast.....
 This was our room....
Room 3020
The bed was huge...... easy to get lost in it... but oh so comfortable...
We arrived in our room somewhere between 4.30 and 5pm..
It was the first chance we have had to relax all day, so we lay down and had a cuppa and a good chat....
It was so nice to have this time together..
We were told they had an awesome seafood smorgasbord, and so we booked a table for later in the evening.... they were booked out until 8.30pm, so we decided to go for a nice walk....
We walked accross the road to here...
Marina Mirage Shopping Centre...
It was right on the water.... straight out onto the Marina....
I had been here previously with Jannett and Carolyn when we had a week on the Gold Coast a couple of years ago, and so I remembered that they had one of these here.....
Chocolate Bar..
And since we had barely eaten all day we decided to share a  chocolate appertiser to tide us over until it was time for us to go to dinner...
I introduced Steve to these
You can see it all on the face...
We shared it, but he was suitably impressed, and I am sure we will visit one of these again.
After sharing this, we thought that we had better go for a walk to walk it all off.
Since Steve loves the water and boats, I thought I would take him for a walk around the Marina....
Mirage Mariner
He loved it....., he was more adventurous than us girls were a couple of years ago....
We actually went much further that we intended, but it was so worth it... we walked around a corner and discovered this.....
So pretty all lit up...
The inside of the chapel...
Out the front of "Our Lady on the Sea"
Totally impressed by this little chapel
Our Lady on the Sea
Found this photo of "Our Lady on the Sea" out to sea.... Imagine getting married here....

Steve was pretty impressed with the size of this Tug which was berthed right next to the chapel.
Our course we had to photograph it.
Massive Tug...
We still had some time left before it was time for us to go for dinner, so we came back and walked around the area.... found a quaint little pub and on the water across the foot bridge, we stood and admired the view.....
The moon seemed to be smiling down on us....
The night sky...... The moon seemed to be smiling down on us...
We headed back to the Sheraton.....
This time we walked across the sky walk over the highway...
Front of the Sheraton... loved the waterfall.
We headed back to our room to freshen up and we were only in there for five minutes when we got a call to say our table was ready.....
Seafood Buffet here we come.....
The seafood was loaded up and it just kept coming and coming....
About to enjoy my meal...
It wasn't just seafood, there was sushi, roast meats and vegetables, soup.... it was amazing...
Salads,  more variety than you could imagine... it wasn't cheap, but it was good....
Steve's meal ( well first course)
They had an amazing desert bar also... There is no way you could possibly sample it all.
I tried to be fairly good.  As it was I couldn't hear all of my meal... I did try to stick more with the god foods....
This was my desert....
Pavlova, fresh fruit, Chocolate slice
Steve went for the warm deserts....
Steve's desert
He did indulge in a second bowl of the rum and raisin ice-cream.  I must admit it was really beautiful, one of the smoothest ones I have ever had....
Enjoying my desert..
Steve enjoying his desert.....

We really did have a wonderful evening together...
The weather was perfect whilst we were there...
We woke up this morning to beautiful skies and sunshine....
The view from our room.....
The view from our room this morning...
Lovely views of the ocean, although the camera doesn't really show it because of all the glare...
Steve made us an early morning cuppa...
Making us a cuppa
It was nice to sit here and have a read with my early morning cuppa....
with the window open listening to the waves breaking on the beach...
Enjoying my early morning cuppa

Whilst enjoying the view....

Our room
Our driver was picking us up to deliver us to the airport at 8.15am
Steve went to settle the bill and I enjoyed sitting in this lovely lounge waiting for him...
The foyer of the Sheraton...
We had almost an hour to wait before our flight left, so we went and had a hot chocolate together and a lovely piece of toasted raspberry and pear loaf....
Steve enjoying his hot chocolate...
Love this man....
Our flight was nearly due to board....
Checking our boarding gate.....
The plane is on the tarmac....
Our flight ready for us to board....
We were home by lunch time...
It all seems a little surreal this evening....
It was a wonderful 24 hours away with my man....
Feeling very blessed...
