LADIES AS TRADIES.....

We had our final scrap day for the year last Saturday..
it was a great day and once again we held it as a fund raiser for Cancer and held it at the Cancer Council Rooms...
We had 17 ladies come, and we raised $525 for Men's Cancer.  So pleased to have spent the day with such a group of very generous, caring creative woman...
This year we ran with the theme "Ladies as Tradies" and the set the room up to reflect this theme.
We also held a silent auction and were just blown away by the woman's generosity, not only in providing over 60 goods to auction, but by buying them all back again....
We did have a lot of fun....
Jannett managed to get a few signs from some builder friends of hers so that we could decorate the room.  We just had to put this one on the wall near our table with our cricut and other electrical items we use for our scrapbooking...   Thought it was pretty cool.

Beware of crazed woman using power tools...
Our room setup
Builder's mesh
We were going to put it around the room, but it was too heavy and kept falling down, so decided to hang a sign on it and put it at the entrance...

Plenty of signs around our room.
And then the gifts started coming in... We were overwhelmed at everyone's generousity.

Jannett and I managed to get a few photos together too, all dressed in our Tradie gear...

It is not often that we are all together so I wanted to get photos of Robyn and some of the other girls too...

At lunch time it was all outside so we could get some group photos.  The Cancer Foundation likes to have some photos to put up on their board, so it was official photo time...

We swapped photographers and Katrina took over the camera so that I could manage to get into a couple of shots also.

Lunch was included in the cost and included Subway and a drumstick ice-cream..
Break for lunch
We had a couple of games after lunch and then it was time to finalize the auction...

Time for a game or two...
Then we scrapped for another hour and then decided we better do the auction as a few people had to leave early because of other committments...

Toni came as a painter
This suited Toni as she really is a very talented artist... Her work is exceptional.
Dianne and Jean worked whilst Maree enjoyed a coffee whilst chatting to them.
Lesley was into card making and was on a mission.
Auction time.... Having a last look before b ids closed.  It really is a really fun way to have a fundraiser..
One last look at the auction table before it all went under the hammer
We really did have a lot of wonderful prizes to bid on.
Fortunately, there were bids on everything...
It was time to call out and let everyone know what they had won and then collect all the money.

It was a very long day.  We were there at 8am in the morning and didn't get home until after 10pm at night, but it really was such a great day, and we were thrilled to be able to hand over $525 as a result of our day together...
Roll on next year....
