WILLOW'S SECOND BIRTHDAY....

Our beautiful grand daughter is now 2....
What a great birthday she had...
She is at such a gorgeous age now, and totally got the unwrapping of birthday presents this year too.
The bigger the present the more she liked it....
She was so excited....
She got some lovely gifts, and enjoyed being the centre of attention...

Another big present from Mummy and Daddy this time,  she was so excited because it was a big one... She ripped the paper,
So excited with her Little People Jungle...
They had one more surprise for their baby girl.  Colin's parent had bought Willow a wonderful vintage tricycle.... Sarah and I spent time the evening before putting it all together.... We know she is going to love. it...
Sarah had it hidden under a sheet on their bedroom floor...
What is it Willow??????
She loved it....
She was hilarious to watch... She would climb up the back of the bike and straddle over to the seat... She didn't realize that she could just put her little leg over.....
She also discovered the bell and loved ringing it.  I don't know how long her Daddy will leave it on there.... and the little streamers from the handles had her fascinated...
Checking out her new bike...
She worked out how to get her feet on the pedals
She was funny.... She managed to make the pedals work but she seemed to go backwards more than forwards....
Backwards we go..
Willow was having a small birthday party up at the park, so we thought we would take the little bike up to the park for her to ride around.  There are lots of paths that she can ride on up there...
Willow also loved the balloons.  Sarah and I had prepared everything for her little party the night before, even blowing up all the ballons and stringing them together so that Colin could try them in the shelter shed where we were holding her party.  We had to send him up pretty early in the morning, and by the time he got there, there were already other people barring shelter sheds for their kids party.  It is a very popular park.
Enjoying playing with her party balloons...
In her new birthday Princess PJs...

Whilst Sarah finished getting ready for the party, I looked after Willow and we opened up her Princess Duplo set she got for her birthday,  and she loved it... She was putting the prince and princess to bed, and had them sitting at the table having breakfast.  I love watching her imaginative play...
Playing with her birthday duplo

Loves her birthday presents
Love listening to her chatting away as she plays....
Willow picked her birthday Cake.  Sarah let her look through the birthday cake book and she wanted a bunny cake, so bunny cake she got....
Her amazing Bunny Cake...
Her Aunty Brenda was very happy with her choice as this particular cake was one of her all time favourites when she was young... In fact she had it for a few birthdays....
Willow has very few sweets,  so she was pretty excited to get some chocolate for her birthday..
loves those chocolate M & Ms
it was quite windy so they had some trouble lighting the candles on her cake.   In fact they had to shield it with one of her presents...
Lighting the candles....
Daddy helping by holding Willow so she can blow out her candles...
She managed to blow them all out.
Ready to eat it now...
Finger licking good....
Cake please Mummy
Love the delicate way she picks up her cake...
I like it..... she says...
She cleaned up the lot....
She had a lovely play with all her friends....
When it was time to pack up, whilst Sarah was busy loading up the car,  Willow decided to sneak some more cake.... She was really cute,   all we could do was grin at her and take lots of photos....
Finger goes into the cake...
 I like it she says....
Hand goes back for a little more...
Now we are scooping it....
handfuls....
and licking them clean....
Yum
Big hole appearing in the cake now...
Daddy gets in on the act...
How could he stop her, she looked so darn cute...
More cake consumed than Mummy would be happy with...
But how could we stop her... It is her birthday...
Poor Cake.....
We took her home from her party to have a sleep... She had a very big day the day before at Dreamworld and she had been up early that morning.... Mind you we were all a little tired and all ended up having a lay down.   Sarah dropped Colin off at work so that we could have the car...
After Willow woke, we decided to go in to Mt Gravatt Shopping Centre to pick up a couple of things and also give Willow a play in the air conditioning...

She had a lovely time in the new play area there, and we did have a little difficulty getting her to leave...
She loves the Playground..
Playing with Mummy
Riding the Giraffe...
Enjoying the slippery slide....
Not ready to leave...
Walking along the Crocodile with Mummy
She is very good at doing this and loves to walk on edges of things...
We finally managed to get Willow to leave and decided that since it was still stinking hot we would have dinner out at Hog's Breath as a treat for Willow for her Birthday... Sarah decided to go put all our shopping in the car before we went for dinner... I kept Willow in the eating area around all the water features... It is really lovely since they have done it all up.  It is almost like a beach setting there now... with deck chairs and lounges to lay on to relax around the water...
As it was stinking hot,  I let Willow take off her shoes and dangle her feet in the water....
Cooling off
Enjoying having her toes in the water...
The eating area is very popular and a lot of the restaurants were booked out....
We managed to secure a seat at Hog's Breath, and Willow had nuggets and chippies for her birthday dinner....
Yum.... Nuggets and Fries..
No trouble getting her to eat her dinner...
Sharing with her Mummy...
We had a lovely day.... it bought back lots of memories for me for when her Mummy was two...
It really only seemed like yesterday...
It was straight home after dinner, bath and into bed...
Love this little cherub....
