CELEBRATING HER BIRTHDAY AT DREAMWORLD...

This is the second time I am attempting this post.
I lost the first one...
I spent last weekend in Brissie for Willow's 2nd Birthday...
I didn't even think about the G20 when I first booked my flights....
My friends all thought I was crazy flying into Brisbane that weekend, but it was no drama at all.
The airport was really quite the night we flew in, but that was about all I saw that was different with the G20 being in town... We pretty much kept to the suburbs, and it never affected us at all...

Our birthday treat for Willow was a day at Dreamworld...
Initally my girlfriend Kathy and I decided that we would take our Grandchildren for the day..
Sarah then thought she might like to join us also...
We had the very best day...
Willow just loved it....  was a little overwhelmed to start with, but she really enjoyed it and I am so thankful now that we bought seasonal tickets which now allows us to go whenever we want for the next 14 months....

I am sure we will go back again soon.

Arriving at Dreamworld
We headed to The Wiggles area first as we didn't want to miss the show there.  We knew that Willow and Caleb would love it as they love to dance along to their songs at home...
The loved the music but were a little afraid of the larger than life characters...
Loved this area of Dreamworld
We could have probably spent the whole of our time at Dreamworld in this area alone.  Willow would have been having to pedal this little car around all day.  She kept an eye on it whilst dancing to the Wiggles music...
Wiggles world was a favourite
Neither of the children wanted to get too close to the actual characters,  but Willow in particular loves to dance and dance she did.....
Not too keen on meeting Henry...
She was mesmerized by the characters, as long as they stayed on the stage...
Wiggles Concert
and she is at such an adorable age now that she loves to sing songs and do the actions... She was so very cute...
Dancing.
And doing all the actions... Loved watching her get so involved...
She would have gladly spent all day here..... She loved the cubbies, and cars and we did have some trouble dragging her away...
She was quite possessive when it came to this little car....
After the Wiggles Show we headed off to see the tigers...
The big cats
Willow was quite fascinated by the tigers and loved it when they leapt through the air and climbed up the tree.  She really does love animals....
From here we decided to take the children on a couple of rides...
She was so funny.  We had trouble getting her on them... she took one look at them and said "I don't like it"..

Riding the planes with her Mummy
On the Merry-go-round with her Moppy and then her Mummy
She was really quite hilarious... Scared to get on them but then didn't want to get off once she had had a go... We went on them several times.  Fortunately it wasn't a busy day and we didn't have to queue for hours...
More fun on the Merry - go - round....
From here we went to the Madagascar concert.  She loved it and was dancing away to the music until one of the characters came off stage and up to where she was dancing.  she took off in a hurry straight into her Mummy's arms... She was so cute...
Madagascar concert fun...
Some great props for a photo shoot...
Mesmerized by all the activity and colour around her...
We had some lunch in this area.... We had packed our own, but we were so thirsty that we had to buy drinks and we also got some ice-blocks for us all.  It was not cheap... Cost over $45 for 4 drinks and 5 iceblocks and a cup of chips....  So thankful that we mostly took our own food in....

Caleb and Willow were both keen to see the animals so we headed over there after lunch... We stopped and watch the shearing show... the littlies were fascinated and excited by the fact that the sheep got a hair cut.  They both collected a little wool//
Watching the sheep get  a "haircut"
Next we went to check out the Kangaroos and the Koalas.  Willow fell in love with the Koala's and of course this Moppy just had to spoil her.  I mean it was a birthday treat... She was so so cute as she danced around with Keith her Koala.
With Keith her Koala
More dancing and cuddles with Keith the Koala..
Next it was off to see the Crocodiles... So thankful that we were well behind fences when we caught up with these guys.  They were huge.....
Checking our the Crocodiles..
From here we caught the train back to the main station.... Pool Willow lost her brand new Koala Bear but the staff and train driver were so good and helpful.  Next trip around they stopped the train with everyone on it and went and retrieved her little Koala bear for her.
Riding the train...
Whilst Mummy stuck around to retrieve her Koala.  Kathy and I took Willow and Caleb back to Wiggletown for some more rides.....
By this stage Willow was really getting the hang of it all and loved going on them...
This time we went on the Tea cup ride...
Wow to say she loved this would be an understatement.  it was a good thing the park was not busy as she must have had 6 or 7 rides on this thing...
Riding on the tea cups with Kathy and Caleb..
Cries of "More" when ever we stopped.  she didn't want to get off.
By the time Mummy rejoined us. Willow had to introduce Sarah to the Tea cup ride also... They went super fast...
Riding the teacups with Mummy
We also went on the 'Big Red Car"
We did this ride about three times also...
Riding the big red car...
And finally it was riding the big red boat...
The Little red boat.

We had only planned on being in the park for about four hours...
That was a bit of a job.  We arrived at 10am,  and it was 6pm before we left, and there was no sleep for Willow either...
We all had a fabulous day...
Would we go again????
Most definitely.
Hopefully these Christmas Holidays...
Will be back tomorrow with Willow's birthday...
