THE CHRISTMAS PARADE...

It is hard to believe that Christmas is less than two months away...
I am certainly not ready for it to be Christmas yet...
Still too much to do, before I can even think about Christmas shopping, Christmas decorations, and Christmas cooking.  I guess because it isn't a Latham Christmas this year,  I haven't really wanted to think about it.  There will just be the three of us this year... Do we stay at home. or do we go away, these are questions we still haven't got answers to yet...

Still it was nice to get into a little Christmas Cheer on Thursday night...
Our school decided to enter a float in the Christmas Parade.  It is a very very very long time since I have been to a Christmas Parade.... I guess because we don't have young children at home anymore, we haven't bothered to go for quite a while.  In fact I probably won't have gone this year except the school asked me to come along and take some photos for them...
It was a great night and the kids were awesome.  Considering they had to sit on the float for over an hour and a half, they were very well behaved and a pleasure to be out with....

Some of our Christmas fun...

Somehow they got hold of a big semi trailer,

The Semi when it arrived....
Next it was time to decorate it and blow up all the balloons.  I think we had something like 1000 to give away along with pencils, and brochures about our wonderful school.
Balloons everywhere....
to decorate our float....
Not only did we hand out lots of balloons, but we used them to decorate the float also.... It looked pretty impressive when it was all done...
Some of our helpers with the balloons....
The President of our P & C also came along to lend a hand...
We are very fortunate to have a wonderful staff and parent cohort at our school.  Members of the P & C, our tuckshop co-ordinator, along with parents, admin, and
Miranda with a stash of balloons.
Staff dressed up to walk.... some in school uniforms, some in school shirts and some of us in blue shirts..

We took some official photos.... I won't include any with students in, but someone had made our Principal and Deputy lovely sashes to wear.  They did look pretty good.
Jenny and Sam
We are so fortunate to have these two wonderful woman leading our school.  They are both leaders, and really encourage for each of us to strive for the best....  I feel very priviledged to be working with them both.
Our Year 3 teacher who walked as the Nutty Science Professor...
The kids love their science lessons when Jason dresses up for them....
It was time to load on the children on....
Loading everyone on the truck...
All ready to go....
Balloon heaven whilst we supervised the children...
We were towards the back of the procession, so I didn't really get a good look at a lot of the floats that had entered... I did manage to get a few photos of a couple of them that were near us...
Other floats...
More floats...
They even had the wise men riding the camels...

It was great to see all the Red Roster Staff out on the steps of their store waving to us all.

Red Rooster staff all got into the spirit of the parade..
Even though I hadn't planned to attend,  I am sure glad I did.  It was a lot of fun, and it was good to see families out doing stuff together...  We have another big week ahead of us this week again in our Pop-Up Book Sale on Tuesday night....  I've been busy putting together displays.... might manage to get some photos on Tuesday night and see if I can post those...
