CHRISTMAS LIGHTS 2014

I love this time of the year....
After our Prawns on the Lawn, the kids took us on a Christmas Lights tour around North Rockhampton.  There are certainly some lovely lights in Rockhampton this year....  We went places that neither Steve or I have seen before.  The girls live in an area that has a lot of Christmas lights close by, so they already knew the area pretty well.  In fact they have been looking at Christmas Lights for a couple of weeks now...
So pleased to follow where they led last night, it really was quite spectacular...

This house was close to where the girls live... Nice but not quite as spectacular as some...
this next place was amazing.  In fact it was so good, that you really couldn't appreciate it from the car.  You had to get out and walk around it to truly appreciated the work that has gone into decorating their home.

Caught taking photos...
We managed to catch Dan and Chloe visiting Santa with their wish list for Christmas...

Interesting photo of some of the beautiful lights...

This house was really amazing and it is just around the corner from where Dan lives, so he knew the area pretty well.  He took us to another lot of Christmas lights not far from these and the whole street was decorated... Looked beautiful.
A whole street decorated like this..
Just beautiful..
I am really slack,  I don't think I could be bothered doing it myself but I really do love that people do it and I get to drive around and enjoy it.  I have a wonderful husband who indulges me, and I feel spoilt and blessed each year we visit the different lights regardless of where we are at the time.  We have done Christmas lights in Melbourne, Mt. Gambier, Bundaberg, Turkey Beach, Brisbane and Rockhampton and I love them all.
Laser light display on the garage door.
Steve really loves the laser light displays that we saw as we traveled around.  He loves the patterns they continued to throw...
Close up on the garage door.
This next house was quite something...  It's light display was synchronized to Christmas carols and by turning your car radio to a designated channel you could watch it all from the car.  We choose to hope out and go for a walk around it.
Caught photographing it.

One of the things I loved about this house was seeing Santa waving from the window...
Santa waving...
Not sure how they did this, almost like a hologram where he looked very real but would walk around the room and then come back to the window to wave.  We saw a few of these on our travels tonight.
 On the move again...

There were lots of inflated Santas around tonight also...
and cute reindeers....

Moving further along we came across more Santas waving from windows.  I really did think that these were pretty cool.  Dan wondered how you explained Santa to kids when we were seeing so many in everyone's windows...

 There were Aussie Christmases
Where Kangaroos were responsible for getting Santa around
And then we had Display's that acknowledged a Saviour's birth.  The real reason why we celebrate this wonderful Season.
The wise men travelled from afar to see the baby Jesus.
Jesus is the reason for the Season
Loved this display...
 We saw others like these...

Looks like the Christmas Lights tour is done and dusted for us for another year...
Incredibly thankful to all those people who go out of their way to put on such a special display for us all to enjoy....

Pete and Maria have been to the Christmas Lights also...
They have been to Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen,  some of the best in Europe...
Think Pete might have a bit of his Mum in him also as apparently he took heaps of photos of the lights there.  I can't wait to see them.. Knowing Pete though I will probably be waiting half way into next year... He did tell me though that I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM...
Just from these few shots I can see that I would...
Tivoli Gardens - Copenhagen.

Definitely think a visit to Copenhagen in Winter for Christmas might have to be on our future travel plans especially whilst Peter still lives over there...
