PRAWNS ON THE LAWN.... -OUR TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS EVE MEAL....

One of our Christmas Eve traditions is Prawns on the Lawn...
This was something we started when we were in Melbourne and the kids didn't want to do a big dinner thing.  Pete suggested that we just buy some prawns and sit on the lawn outside the van with a bunch of prawns for dinner instead.  It was such a beautiful evening and we enjoyed it so much that it has now pretty much become a bit of a family tradition...
Even though the rest of the family aren't with us, we still had prawns on the Lawn last night.  An evening earlier, but we wanted to go see all the Christmas lights so thought we should grab something easy before we took off...
Great idea...

Prawns on the lawn...
Dip Platter
Having the thermie now, it meant that all dips were homemade with a lot of the produce comeing from our own garden.... We had Beetroot and Cummin Dip, Basil, Cashew, & Parmesan Cheese dip, and Rosemary, Basil Hommus....  All very yummy.
and we also had our traditional Christmas fruit platter...
Home made dipping sauce too.
Thought I would also experiment with the Thermie again and make a Tobleroine & Cream dipping sauce.  Chloe was reluctant to try it because she didn't think that it looked that good, but oh my gosh it tasted fantastic and it soon all went...
Enjoying the picnic dinner...

Having a sore hand made it very difficult getting up and down as I still can't put any weight or pressure on that hand...
Enjoying a feed on the lawn.
But I did manage to get down and with a bit of help from Steve I managed to get back up again also.

Crazy pair... Meanwhile Steve is still enjoying his prawns.
Such a lovely evening....
The only thing we didn't bank on were the mossies... There were millions of them, and we all ended up having to RID up to make the evening enjoyable....
Once we were slathered in Rid, they didn't bother us anymore....
Chloe and Danielle
Hopefully Chloe's flatmate Danielle will join us for Christmas lunch as well.  She is just like another daughter to us.  She has the most beautiful kind heart, and is a joy to be around...

Crazy pair...
Where would we be without our phone...
I am sure that Dan was glad he had this as he endured a Christmas Light tour.  The things you do for LOVE.  I am sure he didn't bank on us stopping and taking so many photos.  Love you Dan and thanks for your Patience....
It was a fun night with lots of laughs...
