A DAY AT THE BEACH.

We were so blessed to have Willow have a little holiday with us for a couple of nights...
Sarah and her good friend Anna came to the coast to spend the day with us yesterday when they came to pick Willow up.

We met them at Caloundra where we also caught up with Sarah's very good friend Hannah and her family who were holidaying at "The Oaks Resort" there...
We spent most of the morning with the kids in the pool...
They loved it...

Mumma Sarah -  looking good.
Her good friend Anna and her little boy
Willow loves Sarah's good friend Hannah and was very excited about seeing her and her two little boys.  It is lovely that Sarah has such a beautiful friend who also adores her little girl.

Fun times with Mummy
She loves the water and didn't want to get out...
The two girls playing with the children..

I can't believe that even though knowing we were going to the beach I forgot to pack in our swimwear.  It was a little easier for Steve because he could have just worn a pair of his rugger shorts in, so we just sat and enjoyed watching these guys play.

The grounds at the Oaks were beautifully kept, with lagoons, waterfalls, ponds, beautiful lilies, eels, and birdlife, so I did go for a little work around the place to admire the beauty..
Gorgeous lilies

An assortment of many different coloured lilies
We saw several rather large eels swimming in the lagoon, and their were beautiful waterfalls.  The restaurants all looked out onto these lovely views....
Some of the views from the restaurants.
Couldn't resist taking this photo of Willow as she got out of the pool with her little hooded towel. So cute.
Hopping out of the pool...
We decided to head down to the beach in Caloundra for some fish and chips on the beach...
We ended up near the water park area....
This area of Caloundra holds bitter sweet memories for me...
The last time I had been here was when I was down in Caloundra when my Mum was dying, and we had gone here for a little reprieve from the hospital...

We all followed each other in our cars down to this park, but Steve and I were fortunate enough to get a park there whilst the others had to park quite a way away...
We sat near this water feature whilst we were waiting for the others to arrive, and Willow was keen to go and have a closer look.
Of course Poppy was happy to oblige.

Checking out the spouts of water
Boys will be boys...

Willow and Poppy checking out the water sprays...
it was a perfect day,  the weather was glorious with a beautiful sea breeze.  We sat under a tree and had a lovely picnic together.  Lots of fun, even if it was twinged with a few sad memories...
On the way home Steve decided to go a back way to get back into Nicklin Way....
Unfortunately it took us directly past the hospital in which my Mum passed away...
That is the first time I have gone near it in almost three years....
I had a real knot in my stomach..
I miss her so much.

The girls left to head home around 4pm.  Willow was a little beyond it as she had had very little sleep and had woken at 5.15am that morning...
In the end,  Sarah had dinner at Anna's and they bathed the kids together so that all Sarah had to do was take Willow home and put her straight to bed...
Dinner at Aunty Anna's with Elia...
Bath time - she was so tired...
Still it was lovely to have a day with Sarah, Willow and their friends...
I truly do feel blessed to have such wonderful people in my life...
It has been a full on time away,  I am tired,  I am ready to go home to have a rest, but i WOULDN'T TRADE ONE MOMENT of our time with family for anything... it is just all so very special...
Feeling the love.....
