CELEBRATING BOXING DAY & NEW YEARS EVE ALL TOGETHER

One of our family traditions is to all go and see a movie together on Boxing Day..
Since Sarah and Colin had a Moore Christmas in Mackay this year, we waited for our traditional Boxing Day Movie until we went to Brisbane so we could see the last in the Hobbit movies...
So Wednesday 31st December so us celebrating the day as if it were Boxing Day.  It was also a day that Colin had off and Sarah was able to get her sister in law Brenda to come and babysit Willow so the adults could all go out.
Daina was still with us, so in the end six of us trooped off to see this.....

Our Boxing Day Movie.
Unfortunately Colin had to work New Year's Eve, so he and Sarah were unable to have a night out together.  However Sarah still took us up on the offer and Chloe and Sarah headed into town to see the new year in.  I am pretty sure they took in a Movie...

Our good friends Ian and Kathy joined us for dinner with Sarah and Chloe (before they headed into town) and we saw the new year in with them...
Traditional Forward and Latham style we played games.
We managed to play a couple of games of Zilch....
Wonderful evening with these guys...
It was the girls night....
We had a beautiful meal all together and then nibbles our way through the night with a nice bottle of wine...
It was actually a really lovely evening...
We always have a lot of fun with these guys..
Always lots of laughter which I think is good medicine for the soul...
Wine and nibblies
Chocolate of course.....
Happy times

Good one Ian
The scorer himself
Please please a five or a one....
2 fives.... good start..
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS a one....
We managed to play two games of zilch before 11pm QLD time....
I won the first game and Kathy one the second one..
it was definitely a girls night....

At 11pm we decided to turn on the television so that we could watch this...
The fireworks are always quite spectacular over the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.
We were still feeling pretty bright so ended up just chatting together until New Year's Eve in Queensland then, and then we watched the fireworks all over again in Brisbane...
Fireworks from Southbank
Fireworks over the city
Brisbane Fireworks
It was a wonderful night spent with good friends...
May there be many more....
I am torn between wanting to go into the city to see them live, but the thought of all the crowds and parking issues etc seem to put me off....

 A New Year has begun......
