THE GREEN WASTE JUST PILES UP.....

Unfortunately we lost a lot of our trees during the cyclone..
This meant we had a pile of rubbish that was higher than a car sitting on the footpath in our front yard...

The green waste just piles up
higher and higher
Taking over the whole footpath....
It has been a massive job for the local council to clean on the debris and although it is two weeks today since the cyclone hit us, a lot of our footpaths are still looking like this....

A huge mound of dead debris litters our footpaths..
Every street you drive down looks like this...
on both sides of the road...
hides the car..
Our pile was so high that you could not see the car parked on the footpath...
It is actually starting to get quite depressing driving around town.  Lawns are lovely and green but littled with these large mounds or dying vegetation....

The local council are doing a fantasic job trying to clean it all up.  When you consider that a Category 5 cyclone crossed the coast near us and hit us as a Category 4 and then 3, the devastation was horrific.  Over 64,000 homes were without power and most of these have managed to have their power restored within 10 days..

The council and the army are now working through the town cleaning up all this debris from people's footpaths... There is plenty of free garden mulch in town for people to collect at the moment....
