Starting you day off on the right foot can be
as simple as beginning your morning with a positive thought.
Many of us begin our day watching the news, a
primarily negative influx of information. Rather than waking up and instantly
immersing ourselves in negativity, which can perpetuate itself, try doing
something that will make you feel happy and uplifted. The evening before, write yourself a short, positive note and slip it in your coffee cup or place it on the bathroom mirror, ensuring the very first thing you see is something that makes you smile.
It could be
a funny joke, an inspiring quote, a gratitude or a personal encouragement.
Setting your synapses to fire optimistically can change your whole day. Then,
keep the good energy flowing while having breakfast or driving to work by
listening to music and singing along or enjoying your favorite radio talk show
hosts. Make a mental note of the things around you that you appreciate like car
seat warmers on a chilly morning, a drive-through Starbucks or the fact that
you get to have lunch with a friend.
There are
many ways to kick-start your day on a positive note. Start your day off right,
or reroute it back on the right track, with one positive thought.
