AFTERNOON TEA IN PARIS.....

Yesterday afternoon,  I enjoyed afternoon tea in Paris.  A friend of ours puts on a fund raising afternoon tea for a Charity called "Our Rainbow House' which is children's orphanage  in Zambia, Africa.  After visiting her son’s sponsor child in a village on the outskirts of Lusaka back in 2002 Alison Ray was left with an overwhelming drive to help the orphaned and vulnerable children.  Knowing that it would need a team Alison surrounded herself with generous friends and family and set about establishing Our Rainbow House.

Each year, our friend Marion puts on a very special afternoon tea as a fund raiser to help support this orphanage...

Marion and her daughter Natalie
It is always held in her garden, which is just glorious I might add, and she usually has somewhere between 50-60 ladies attending.   This year, Marion and her friend went to Paris, and so decided to have an "Afternoon in Paris" as her theme for the afternoon tea.
We were greeted in the front yard by Natalie who quickly filled a champagne glass for us with some sparkling champagne.
These lovely ladies took our money and produced raffle tickets for us...
Just want to share photos of the gardens and all the trouble Marion went to just to make us feel as if we were afternoon teaing in Paris...

Ovelooking the garden...
All tables were decorated with runners depicting scenes from Paris as well as little vases of fresh flowers and all the tables were numbered which made it easy to find where we were seated...
Each table had these little easels with the table number on them too.

All tables were under cover...
Bunting decorated the garden...
Colurful garden seats and garden settings dotted the gardens...
The Pink Butterfly chair and cushion.
Half way through the afternoon,  Marion got her friend Alison Rae to tell us a little about the "Our Rainbow House" Project and how the work being done there is so valued and appreciated by the children...
Marion and Alison address everyone..
The gardens were a mass of colour....
Marion's garden was almost totally destroyed in the cyclone earlier this year... She has done an amazing amount of work to have them looking so gorgeous for the afternoon tea.
