TEST RUN FOR THE NEW MOTOR.....

Someone in this house has been keen to go for a run down the river....
We have been so busy lately that we haven't had a chance...
Anyway, yesterday afternoon,  after he had spent several hours at work, he came home hooked up the boat and we headed down to the river for a late afternoon run....

It was magical...
Such a gorgeous afternoon...
So peaceful and quite....
So calming and relaxing...
Such a lovely way to spend an afternoon...

Unpacking the boat and preparing it to launch...
Off comes the covers...
Backing it down into the water....
It truly was a magical day on the way...
Perfect weather...
Not to hot,
Lovely cool breeze, and blue blue sky...
Even the river looked lovely.... not it's normal murky brown colour...
Boats on the river...
Starting the motor for the first time....
Our first run....
Pretty quiet motor....
Pulling away from the boat ramp...
A little choppy..... but lovely
More boats on the river than I realized...
Throwing out a line.... trying out the plastics
Trying out some of his plastics...
Super smooth and calm on the water as the afternoon turned into sunset

Beautiful time of the day to photograph this beauty...
Think I got a little carried away, although it was so beautiful that I really don't want to forget it...
Sun shining on the water...
The afternoon light on the river...
 The sunset was just glorious...

It is such a nice place to be to witness the sun and it closes it's eyes and heads down below the horizon...
Sunset
Sunset on the river.

Love how the sun shines down across the water and hits the top of the boat.

Such beauty takes my breath away...

Love seeing the sun setting behind the trees and the silhouettes that they make

Heading back into the boat ramp on sunset,  it was just gorgeous...
We weren't the only ones to come in at this time....
Coming back into the boat ramp, just on dark....
We weren't the only ones coming in at this time in the evening...

There were a few boats lined up at the boat ramp...
Luckily it is a new and wide boat ramp because I think there were three cars on their retrieving their boats at the same time...
Getting the trailer ready to pull in the boat....
Hooking it up onto the trailer
Enjoying one last view down the river before we take off up the boat ramp...
We should be doing this more often...

Although somewhat unplanned it was a lovely way to spend a couple of hours on the river....
In fact the fact that it was a spare of the moment decision probably made it that little bit more enjoyable.... It is something we definitely need to be doing a little more often...

Warning about the Crocs in the river...
I am yet to see one myself, but I have been assured from those that have seen them, there are some pretty big ones in this part of the river.  It is enough to  make me want to make sure that I never venture from the boat whilst on the river...
