KERRIE - LAURIE'S RETIREMENT LUNCHEON

What a beautiful day it was today on the Capricorn Coast.....
Today we celebrated Kerrie-Laurie's retirement.  She is a teacher whom I worked with several years ago, but she has always kept in touch.  She has remembered our special birthdays and occasions and has always shown kindness to me.

She has always had such a passion for teaching and for her students and I loved working in her classroom.  The kids all loved her too.  We need more teachers like Kerrie in our classrooms, so it is always a little sad when they decide to pull the pin....

I have seen Kerrie go through some pretty tough times in her life,  but that has never stopped her from always trying to see the best in a situation and no matter how tough things get,  you can always get a good smile or a laugh out of her....

I think I love her passion for relationships,  to her, her husband and her two children, and her friends are the important things in life to her....  She is fiercely loyal to her family and friends.
She is a good friend to have... and I salute you today Kerrie as you head into this next chapter of your life....

It was so nice to celebrate this special occasion with you...  may we still have many coffee chats together...

Lovely view whilst we had lunch...
Kerri with Tricia and Bron
Celebrating with friends and colleagues...
Sue and Jannett
We had to celebrate of course so it was nice to open and share a bottle of this....
A bottle of Juliet.....
Thinking this is a bottle of wine that Sarah should give to her BF Hannah who delivered a little baby girl yesterday and named her Juliet.....  So appropriate...
The conversations were lovely around the table...
the atmosphere relaxed...
It really was a lovely way to spend a Sunday....
Friends catching up...
Enjoying a good food and good company....
Perfect day... blue skies and my good friend Jannett....
Cathy and I with Kerri-Laurae
The Allies crew from way back.......
Kerri-Laurae enjoying the bubbly....

Kerri-Laurae is well liked, which was reflected in the number who attended and the lovely words spoken about her.....  So typical of Kerri, in that she had hand written a note to each of us just letting us all know how much she appreciated us and the support we have been to her over all the years she has known us....  Made us all feel very special.....
Presented with a beautiful gift of some Royal Doulton....

Present opening...
and reading her card
The gift was so Kerri,  lovely serving plates for her to entertain us all with....
Flowers grown especially for her...
These were picked even from a garden that really has been developed in her honor.....
Then of course there was the cutting of the cake....
Her retirement cake.... simply delicious....
Kerri gave quite a moving speech which I am sure touched all of our lives....
She really is a very special lady.....
Listing to the speeches...

Delivering her speech...
Then it was time to actually cut the cake....
cutting that cake....
Cutting her lovely cake...
catching up with Cathy
Enjoying catching up with friends she hadn't seen for a while...
We couldn't have asked for a nice day...
The weather was perfect,
The company was delightful...
I so do not want to go into work tomorrw...
I could really enjoy a weekend like one each weekend..
It is just a pity that very little got done at home...
