OUTBACK QLD TRIP - DAY 15 - HERVEY BAY

We  get to spend another beautiful day in Paradise...Pretty low key day for us today.  Our last full day of holidays.  Tomorrow we head home...  Not really looking forward to that.  We have had a wonderful holiday and surprisingly for the amount of driving we have done, we still feel refreshed....

Steve wanted a quite day today,  just wanted us to go fishing on the beach.  Lloyd had told him about a place he goes to pump yabbies down near Dundarron but Steve wasn't sure where so decided to ring him for some directions so that we could go get a few.  Lloyd still had heaps left over from the day before and they were still alive and kicking so offered them to us.

Meanwhile we got a phone call from Trevor and Rosie inviting us to dinner that night, and also checking to see what plans we had for the day.  Steve told Trevor that he was going to go fishing off the beach this morning, so Trevor thought he might join us.  In the end, all three boys went fishing whilst I took some photos and rested on the beach.  It was a Perfect day and the most perfect way to end a really wonderful holiday.

A huge photo share today and they are all about fishing...
Just because it was the most perfect day, and I had fun snapping these guys having a ball...
Keen to get out there...

New Surf Bag just to mark the ocassion... He hopes to come home with it full.
Lloyd throwing one back.... wants them bigger than that....
Coming to join Steve.... He is catching a few....
My perfect view
Trevor has caught a beauty
Drew supervising him getting the fish off the hook...
Trevor showing his catch
It was actually quite enjoyable watching the boys have so much fun....
My view whilst resting on the beach.... Lovin in....
Trevor was having trouble catching the whiting.  Probably because his hook was a little big so he headed back up the beach to get his tackle box, so that he could change his hook and reel them in like Lloyd and Steve...
Need to change his hook
Drew was just as happy to play in the sand...
Ah that is better.... hopefully now he will get a few more bites...

Meanwhile, whilst I was relaxing on the beach, Simone decided to go for a two hour bike ride right up and down the coast at Hervey Bay.  She had bought her bike down from the Sunshine Coast and hadn't managed to hop on it at all, so thought she should at least have one decent ride to justify the effort of bringing it.

No doubt she is going to have one sore rump tomorrow.....
Pretty happy with his catch..
Ashton is the real fisherman like his Dad,  he hasn't put his rod down the whole morning.  Drew has spent as much time playing in the sand or even more time than he has fishing....

Three keen fishermen..

Had to get photos of the three of them together... Think that Lloyd even has a whiting on his line...
Yep,  the fishing king just keeps reeling them in.  I cannot believe how many fish these boys are catching just fishing off the beach.  I know that Steve got over 20 in just a couple of hours of fishing...
He's got another one....

The seagulls were around too.  Think they knew that there were plenty out there as well..

 He has got another one...

Think this one is a bit small...
Trevor was the first to leave and go home early... Three guesses for who stayed out fishing the longest...  Still we are on holidays and who would want to be indoors on a beautiful day like today...
Lloyd and STeve continue to fish...
checking out each others catch...

He's got another one...
Still reeling them in.
Aston just loves his fishing... He has stood with the men all morning , hasn't abandoned his post at all.
He's caught a fish...
Drew helping Aston get his fish off his hook.

Lloyd's headed home to start packing.  Their holidays finish tomorrow also, and he has a boat to get ready to take home...
No chance of getting Steve to give up yet...

He was left on his own fishing but it didn't take him long to find a friend...

I am wondering if this had something to do with  the friendship and this little fellow not leaving Steve's side
I must admit I am glad that this pelican was Steve's best friend, because it meant that I was able to get up close and personal to him and get some awesome pelican photos.  I don't think I have ever been able to get this close to a pelican before....
Love this photo of the pelican
Love that I have caught him catching a wave and you can see him paddling through it

He has been a bit spoilt getting a feed every now and again

I loved sitting on the beach watching Mr Pelican with Steve

 It was lunch time
Time to head home
Lloyd and Sim were just across the road from the beach
Steve had to fillet his fish so we ended up having lunch with Sim and Lloyd
Sim and I went to get the free chook for lunch and again her GPS sent us all over the place but not to where the chicken shop was

Steve and I headed home for a rest mid afternoon
We were all getting together again that night when we were going to Trevor and Rosies for dinner
We were meeting at their place at 6pm
What a  night
We had the best time
We laughed and laughed and laughed
It was just the best way to end the holidays
A wonderful night with Trevor Rosie Lloyd and Sim
Cheers all round for all the good times
Again the highlights for the day are way too many to number
It has been a wonderful relaxing way to end our holidays
Highlights today would be

Our wonderful beaches
Rest and relaxation
Just watching the pelican fishing with Steve
Belly laughs
Good friends
Our caravan and wonderful holidays in it
Great fishing with plenty of bites
