WE ALL LEARN TOGEHTER

Our PD day was a huge success.
We had 240 teacher aides turn up on the day from 37 different schools.
We always go to quite a bit of trouble because we want them to feel valued and we want it to b e a special day for them.

This year we went with an orange and black theme.  We had orange folders from the year before that we wanted to us....
Both Principals from our schools spoke and welcomed the teacher aides and affirmed their value in their schools today.

Our table decorations... Thank goodness for Pinterest

We were really happy with the way it looked on the day....
Each teacher aide was given a folder which included a couple of notebooks to take notes and a pen, as well as some cards with quotes on.
We also purchased gifts for each teacher aide,  these included this cute little stress doll,  we figured that they could put whoever or whatever name on it they liked and squeeze the living daylights out of it when the pressure was really on.

We also had special lanyards made and we bought each teacher aide an 8gb USB stick, and we had all notes and PowerPoint presentations from the presenters loaded on these so that the aides could take them back to their schools and share with their colleagues.

Over the years we have always taken photos of our day and Jenny one of our organisers put together a PowerPoint presentation of these photos over our last six PD days, and this was played during breaks throughout the day...

Always a celebration when the aides can get together like this....

Regardless of the hard work,  we have all forged a wonderful friendship in planning for these days.
Our day is broken into three sessions...
This year we had some psychologists come and do a presentation on Trauma and Neglect  and the effects it has on our brain development.  It was very interesting not only for our work situation, but quite a few of the aides told us how it really had an impact for them in regards to their family life as well.
Some of our presenters...
The venue was packed

These presenters were well received by the Teacher Aides...

Wonderful food from the Frenchville Sports Club
And plenty of it....
We had a numeracy session in the afternoon.  It was more about  a growth mindset where the teaching of maths is concerned.  We wanted the afternoon to be about hands on and interaction with each other, and the aides really got involved in it all.  Our evaluations were great so it looks like we on target when it comes to meeting the needs of the aides in our region....

It was good to see everyone involved and having a great time...
Even as organisers we all got involved....
My friend Sue... love that some of our friends get to attend this day also.

 It was a great day...
I must say though, I am kind of pleased that it is over for this year....
A couple of months break before we have to start thinking about it all over again.
