HOME TO ROCKY...

We have a couple of days back home before Pete and the girls from Denmark arrive....
Friday was spent running around going to appointments and having dinner with the girls and Chloe's boyfriends parents as an early Christmas meal together....

Saturday was spent cleaning up the house and getting ready for our visitors who were due to arrive that night.....
So good to have everyone home...
Willow has been so so good,  was a little homesick on the Friday and asking for her Mummy but on the whole she has been brilliant... So well behaved, and so much fun....

Pete and the girls arrived around 8pm on the Saturday night.  All very exhausted as Pete had picked them up from the airport and they had driven straight up to Rocky....
They had a pretty early night, but we did have a bucket list to attempt the following morning....

Dudi was a little disappointed that she didn't get to see any kangaroos in the wild on the sides of the road on her way north....
Our first stop on the following Sunday morning was a trip to the Botanical Gardens and Zoo with the hope that the girls might see some kangaroo's, koala's and a crocodile...  All these thing s were accomplished....

Heading to the Rocky Zoo
Great Zoo to visit, as it is all free...
Willow was just as keen as the girls to go and see the animals...
especially the crocodiles, and koalas and the monkey's
Our beautiful grand daughter loves to visit the Zoo
First of all we entered the bird aviary, where we were able to show our visitors the cassowary.  So different to anything they have seen....
Looking for the birds with Aunty Chloe
Happy for us to get a photo...
The girls where keen to see Kangaroo's hopping around, but we really came at not the best time as it was pretty hot and the middle of the day.  Most of our kangaroo's were laying around just resting....
We did managed to see a couple hope from one side of the zoo to the others but on the most part they were pretty inactive...
Kangaroo's were resting...
We did see this very big goanna though....
Large emu.... pretty friendly and would let you get pretty close....
The girls were really keen to see a Crocodile as they don't really have any dangerous animals in Denmark.  It was pretty hard for them to fathom having so many dangerous species here in Australia...
They loved seeing the big crocodiles...
We finally had to go check out the koala's also.  they were also pretty sleepy but it was decided that the  kids would come back there tomorrow at feeding time, so that they could see the animals a little more active...
Willow has koala ride...
We left the gardens at lunch time.  Willow and I headed home as she needed a sleep and we had planned to take the girls down to the beach later in the afternoon to show them the coast.....
Whilst we went home for a sleep.  Chloe took the girls shopping to buys togs and just generally to see the shops in Australia and see how much different they were to the ones they had over there....

They all went home to Chloe's place and then we met them out along Lakes Creek Road and headed down to Emu Park, so that we could show Pete the new Anzac Memorial and show the girls the singning ship.,...
Pete teaching Willow how to roll down the grassy slopes
She went back time and time again to roll back down....
We went for a lovely walk along the board walk around to the singing ship.  We were fortunate to have a couple of tourist offer to take a group photo of us all...
Pete and Maria with Willow
Us girls
group shot of us all...

From the board walk, they climbed up to listen to the signing ship...
Of course we had to take photos...
Visiting the singing ship
Singing Ship at Emu Park
Listening to the ship whistle...
More photos had to be taken....

Some fun group photos...
Someone was getting pretty spoilt by all the big people...
We had arranged to meet Chloe, Dan and his parents for a picnic dinner on the beachfront in Yeppoon....
They have just opened a lovely children's water play area here and I thought that Willow would really enjoy having some fun here...
That was an understatement....
She went in clothes and all....
Riding the turtle...

Having lots of fun with Aunty Chloe
She loved the water spouts coming up out of the ground and had a great deal of fun sitting on them...
By this stage she was soaking wet....
Her smile tells it all
Then she found the stepping stones of water fountains and she sure had a lot of fun playing there also......

What a wonderful night we had....
We ended up having chicken and chips on buns for dinner....
We had stopped all day and tomorrow is shaping up to be another huge day....
