OFF TO BUNDY FOR THE WEEKEND...

On the road again this weekend...
Down to visit Steve's parents..
And to take our van down for some repairs....
We were going to go down on Friday afternoon...
But there were some severe weather warnings with extreme storm cells predicted in our area as far south as the border, so we decided to wait until Saturday morning and see if the weather was any better then....

Well the storm cells were pretty much a non event at home here....
We did get a little rain but not even enough to soak the ground...
Bundy on the other hand received over 5 inches of rain, so it was a good thing that we did wait until the Saturday....
We had a good trip down....
Went for a little drive Saturday afternoon and found another big thing to add to our collection of big things we find when on our travels....
We found the big rum bottle in Bundy....

The old Mill
Welcome to Bundy Rum...
The large rum bottle in Bundy.....
The original building...
Bondstore....

We were going to go for a drive to the beach, but the car seemed to be overheating, so we had to check the radiator....
Found it to be low on water, so rather than risk any problems, decided to head home so we could check it out more thoroughly.....

Steve's mum always spoils us with a loving roast chicken dinner....
This is everyone's favourite,  and we all love forward to one of her awesome meals whenever we go home...
The boys like to text a photo of their meal to each other also, when one is home and gets a meal like this, so it was no different this time, with Steve sending a photo of his meal to his younger brother...
Roast chicken dinner.... Yummo....
It was quite wet again today when we started to head home...
We often drive past this letter box and each time I say I am going to photograph it and we have usually driven past it before we remember....
Today Steve remembered and we stopped.  This letter box always amuses me...
So it was nice to grab a photo of it.... It reminds me of all the letterboxes around Wilmot in Tasmania...
The cow letterbox...
We had rain all the way to Miriam Vale....
We stopped there for a bite to eat and check the car before heading off to complete the rest of our journey...
We got home around 4.30pm which was a good time to get home...
The sun pretty much came out after we left Miriam Vale and we the rest of the trip home was pretty uneventful...
The mountain ranges in the distance were a lovely shade of blue today....
It was a beautiful drive... The rain always seems to enrich the earth and it was so good to see so much green..
