PICNIC AT THE PARK....

I can tell you now that retirement is looking better and better every day...
It was great to have a few days off this work.....
On Tuesday after farewelling Pete we had most of the day in Brissie before our flight was due to fly us home....

I spent the morning baking with Willow, and then we packed a picnic lunch and headed to the park for lunch....
I could get very used to this lifestyle...
These years go so fast and it is nice to be able to do some of these special things with Willow before she goes to school..

Steve and Sarah missed out of skateboarding at Easter time, so decided to head to the park for a skate together... Willow took her scooter and I took Max....

taking Max for a walk through the park...
We had the best time together.....
Heading to the park....
This park is so handy for Sarah and she sure makes the most of it with them visiting most days.  It is so good to see Willow so confident in the great outdoors....
Taking off on his ripstick...
great park to skate around,  plenty of paths

It really is a beautiful park.  There are quite a few weddings held here on the weekends....

They also have the most wonderful kids playground here too.  It has all be done up in the last couple of years,  there is everything, soccer fields, netball courts, playgrounds, skate park, dog parks,  ponds and board walks,  just so much on offer for families...

Fundawood Park - a land of fun for youngsters.
This is just a glimpse of the just one of the wonderful play areas at the park.... No wonder Sarah and the children visit here each day.  So much better than anything you could build in your back yard, and it is all free.
The Netball courts

We had a lovely picnic lunch..
Feeling Max his lunch
Willow and I enjoying our sandwiches
Yummo...

Maxie loves his vegetables

My turn to cuddle Maxie whilst his mummy and his Poppy have their lunch

 Enjoying his lunch....

The birds are rather cheeky here..
There are many varieties here and some are actually bits of pests like these ones which ended up hoping onto the table and getting into our lunch...
These guys enjoyed stealing some of our lunch....
Willow was a little frightened of them also and wasn't game to get down and leave the table....
There were lots of galah's around also....
After lunch it was time for a play in the playground for Willow....
Willow amazes me with her confidence at the park... She has no trouble jumping up onto this flying fox and scooting off along it, even though it is quite high off the ground....
She loves the flying fox...
Mummy bringing it back for her...
Off she goes again...
and again.... she just loves it...
time to have a go with Mummy and show her how it is done....
Poppy a little bit of help would have been appreciated..
lets have another go...
Now we are flying
Willow was keen then to show Poppy how it is done....
Poppy was too scared to go on his own, so Willow had to show him how it is done...
She loves having her Poppy down here to spoil her...
Then it was time for a game of tag around the play equipment....

Come on Poppy, we can't let Mummy catch us.....

It was a little hard to drag her from the play equipment, but the promise of a skate soon tore her away......
Skating with Mummy
Having a great time with Poppy skating around the Netball courts
Some one is loving this....
Look at her go on her own....

 Lots of fun...
Willow had a ball with her Poppy, she loves the great outdoors...
It was time to head home....
Admiring all the beautiful gardens and flowers on our way home.

 Such a lovely park
so fortunate to have it so close to home....

A lovely walk up her street....
And to cap off a perfect day, we were visited by our good friends.
Ian and Kathy
They popped over to have afternoon tea with us and then ended up taking us out to the airport for our flight home...
We did share a lovely sunset moment as we drove across the Gateway Bridge
sunset over the Brisbane River
It really was a a very pretty sunset with the rays of light reaching up into the sky.  Photos never do, do it justice.  but it remains a lovely memory of the end of a perfect few days in Brisbane spending time with some of the people we love most....
So thankful for this lovely few days of rest......
