OUR EUROPEAN HOLIDAY - DAY 10 - A VISIT TO LONSTRUP

We all woke up felling shattered this morning.  We got to bed just after 4am and were amongst the earliest to turn in.  Dudi and Hanna were up till after 7am.  I truly don't know how they do it...

Today was just cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning after the big party.  It was a mammoth task especially when we were all so tired and exhausted.  We washed up for hours.... all the tables and chairs had to be packed up and loaded on trailers and delivered back to the scout hall.

We had planned to go out for dinner to celebrate Pete's birthday, but there was way too much food left over from the wedding and we were all too tired to even make the effort to venture out.

Pete was pretty keen for us though to take a drive into Lonstrup to see the village and the beach there.  It was about 10pm at night when we set off to visit this delightful village and we were glad we made the effort in the end.   The evening lighting was great and we managed to get some lovely photos.

We arrived home a little after 11pm at night to light some candles and have some cake to celebrate Pete's birthday.  Then we had to repack as we had to get away early in the morning to make our boat to cross over to Norway.

It is hard to believe that the wedding was over.  We have had such a lovely time up at the farm with Maria's family and relatives.... We certainly felt at home and a part of this wonderful family....
We are so happy for Pete too as it is obvious that they love him and he is very much a part of their family.  We miss him terribly but to know that he is loved and he feels at home with his Danish family makes it much easier for us having him live on the other side of the world.
