DAY 148 – ENJOYING THE LUXURY OF THE CARAVAN PARK AND FISHING…..

Today was chill out day…

I think since arriving in South Australia we are ready to slow down a little.  Our focus for this holiday was always Northern Territory and Western Australia and the plan had been to leave South Australia for another time, so not a lot of research had gone into sight seeing here.
Steve was keen to fish also…

He hasn’t had anywhere near the opportunities he would have liked to fish these holidays.  The problem has been more the weather than anything, so when you get a great day like today with no wind, and sunshine, you make the most of it.
We had planned to do the Cape Bauer Loop Drive today,  but when Steve came back to the van just before lunch with  a catch from his morning out fishing, and I could see he really wanted to go back out again, I was happy to sit in and let him do it.   We have seen some amazing scenery here and no doubt I would like to revisit this area of SA again, so the Cape Bauer Loop Drive can be left to next time.

Ian and Kathy went out and did the Loop and enjoyed the views, so it will go on our to do list next time we visit this area.
Our views from our caravan at Streaky Bay Islands Caravan Park
Our car set up.   The sites are really quite large..
I enjoyed the surroundings of the Caravan Park, a nap in the afternoon, and then a wander down to the beach.  I also took my camera with me to take some photos of this gorgeous park, the nicest we have stayed in, and such a treat that it was my birthday weekend.

Even had exchange and go gas bottles....
On the move again tomorrow.  We are heading to a sleeping little fishing village called Venus Bay.  Steve has been assured that it is the fishing mecca along this side of the coast.  I am yet to believe it as we are told that there is great fishing at every spot we have stayed at since Ceduna and we haven’t seen anyone catching anything yet.

Whether we catch fish will depend on whether we spend one or two nights  at Venus Bay.
