A BIG FREEZE IN THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE

It was a pretty warm winter in the Northern Hemisphere this year until late February where they had a week of very unusual cold windy weather.

in fact it was the coldest weather Pete has experienced since living in Copenhagen.  The lakes all froze over, the ocean froze for about 100 metres out and the harbour froze over.  In face they were skating on the lakes....

Skiing on the lakes in Copenhagen
The harbour is frozen over...
Down at the ocean front - it is frozen over too.
Ice at the beach...
Nyharn was frozen over as well
The Harbour in Copenhagen...

It is hard to beleive that it was that cold that this volume of water was frozen over and that people were ice skating on it....  Can't imagine what it would be like to experience cold like this....
