BUILDING OF THE NEW FENCE..
Dad rang us earlier this year to let us know that his fence had finally fallen over. Steve had been bolting it back together for the past few years and no bolt was going to work now as a few of the main posts had rotted off at the ground.
Dad had taken some temporary measures by securing it to a couple of star picket posts but it was only a temporary solution.
It is a job that Steve could have done but it would have taken all his holidays to do so, and he is really under the pump at the moment with work, and we have some trips away planned this year...
When my cousin Lloyd and Simone were visiting earlier in the year, we spoke to Lloyd about it (as he also lives on the Sunshine Coast) and he knew an older retired gentleman in his church that does lots of handy jobs, so said he would get a quote for us....
He did that and we accepted it a few weeks before Easter. The work on the fence was scheduled to start just after Easter...
The costs ended up blowing out somewhat... could have had something to also do with the fact that Dad got them to cut down a tree and cart all the rubbish away.. but the fence looks great and we are more than happy with it...
Some progress photos of them at work on dismantling the old fence and erecting the new one...

I am sure we could have done it a lot cheaper...
