OFF TO CHECK OUT THE NEW YEPPOON INFINITY LAGOON...

Our last full day together....
Sarah and the children were heading home the following day so for our last day we decided to take a drive down to Yeppoon and check out the new Yeppoon Infinity Lagoon right on the beach front and then take the kids for a play in the lovely big playground adjacent to the lagoon.

It was a shame that the weather wasn't warm enough for them to have a swim.  They were both keen too, but both have been two unwell to even consider it.

Checking out the new swimming lagoon at Yeppoon
Lovely relaxing areas all around the lagoon..
The kids were really desperate for a swim...  In the end we let them dangle their feet in the water, although I was sure that Max would have ended up in the water all wet.  He surprised me and ended up staying dry.

After having a lovely walk around the lagoon, we headed to the little cafe there and  bought an ice-cream for morning tea and we actually let the kids eat it whilst they dangled their feet in the water.  Willow is real keen to come back in summer when she can swim.
Sarah enjoying the her ice cream  - lovely surroundings in which to do so...
Max is pretty happy with his too.
Bean bags for people to relax in beside the water...
After enjoying our ice-blocks we headed down to the children's play area for the kids to have a play.  It was quite busy with quite a few families enjoying picnics there....
It was almost 1pm before we could drag the kids away from the playground.  As it was their last day with us, we decided that we would go and have lunch at a favourite little cafe on the coast of mine.  Whisk....

As we headed back to the car, we took a bit of time out to check out the beach at Yeppoon.  We really live in a very lovely part of our country.  It is a shame that it has taken me too big trips around our country to truly appreciate just how lovely this area of the coastline is.

By the time we got to Whisk, the bar/cafe was pretty full.  It is a popular place to dine at on the Capricorn Coast.
As usual, our meals did not disappoint us.  Sarah had the burger ( I have had that one previously and it is delish) and this time I choose to have the Pork Belly with pearl cous cous and wombok salad.
The children shared chips and a strawberry malted milk.  Even with it served in two glasses it was still almost too much for them to drink.  The meals are reasonably priced and og a food size...
This was my meal.  I would love to be able to recreate it...

It has been a great day out.  We have obviously worn the kids out as both of them fell asleep in the car on the way back into town.  I am going to miss these guys when they go home tomorrow.
