SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

School Holidays again....
It is hard to believe that this time last year we had left to embark on our lap around Australia.  We would have been on the road for one day....  where has that time gone.

This year Steve had a conference to attend on the Sunshine Coast the weekend my holidays started, so I thought I would join him and fly down.  It also gave me a good chance to catch up with my Dad and see how he was fairing....

I flew into Brissie on the Thursday evening and was picked up from the airport by Chloe and ended up spending the evening with Dan and Chloe at their place.

Sarah picked me up Friday morning, we dropped my gear at her place and then repacked an overnight bag for our visit to the Sunshine Coast.  My Dad knew that Steve was spending the evening with him, but had no idea that both Sarah and I and the children were joining him....

Celebrating her first 100 days at School
Sarah wanted to let Willow go to school as they were having a special celebration party to celebrate their first 100 days of learning at school.  We picked Willow up from school early, around 1.15pm just after her party and got up to the Coast around 3pm.
Enjoying an ice-cream whilst we wait for the men to get home..

Steve and Dad were out getting haircuts, so we let ourselves in to the house and  were sitting out on the patio enjoying an ice cream each  when the men got home.  It was a lovely surprise for day.

We ended up down at Mooloolabah for dinner with the children that night.  We picked up Maccas for the kids, and Steve, Sarah and I all had noodles.  Yummmmm
Family picnic
Our dinner - Garlic Prawns and fried rice.
And we had a nice hot chocolate as well...
Enjoying time with our grandchildren.
After dinner the kids were keen for a play in the playground before we went home.  By now it was dark,  it felt like after 8pm but in reality it was only around 6.30pm so we still had enough time to give them a little play..  They loved it.

Whilst they were playing I couldn't help but admire the moon rising over the water.  I think this is something that we who live in the east take for granted.  When we were in WA last year,  thousands of tourists visit Broome an Port Headland to experience this each month and here we have it on our doorstep all the time.  Mind you though,  we throughly enjoyed watching the sun set over the water each afternoon,   this is something that is rare in the east...
Moon rising over the water at Mooloolabah...

The kids really love it when we interact with them on the play equipment.  They had an absolute ball and we had a hard time getting them off to take them home.  Honestly though,  it is such a happy place for us to see them enjoying life and enjoying the simple things in life.....
Willow and Max on the swings...
Mooloolabah all lit up at night like fairy wonderland..

 Our little poser....
Max has to have a turn sliding down the pole also....
Poppy still has what it takes...
I love this time that we get to spend with these darling cherubs of ours...
It was such a lot of fun, and it was around 7.30pm by the time we got back to Dad's.
The kids still needed to have baths so they were a little late getting to bed tonight, but who cares....It is holiday time.

We have big plans for tomorrow too...
