LUNCH AT THE GARDENS AND PLANTING UP THE GARDEN....

It has been good to get outdoors a bit more lately and enjoy this wonderful country we live in.
Last weekend,  I met some close friends up at our Botanical Gardens for a meeting and picnic lunch.
It has been a while since I have been up here.  In fact I think the last time was at Chloe's wedding and that was over 12 months ago....

It was lovely to share our lunch with the parrots,  they were so friendly and actually were quite game to come up close to us...

So colourful and so friendly
My lunch
Bit spoilt this weekend with flowers...
My favourite flowers are red roses, espcially the Mr. Lincolns which have the most amazing scent.
Sunday was such a beautiful and perfect winter's day with not a cloud in the sky, so Steve and I decided to spend the day out in the garden.  We really haven't looked after our garden since we went overseas in 2016.  We figuted there wasn't much point in replanting it all as we knew we were going to be away for most of 2017 and therefore it wouldn't get looked after.

We have been missing though the fresh produce that we were enjoying eating and cooking with in the past so I was keen to get our herbs growing again, and also lettuce, rocket and cherry tomorrows.
We needed to get lots more soil in to fill our garden beds before planting...

Our lawn also needed a good mow, so I got in and mowed the front lawn, whilst Steve repotted plants for me.
Getting up some steps and mowing the front lawn...
Steve repots some of the lovely succulent plants that Chloe had at her wedding...  We couldn't keep them alive before the wedding, but since they have been neglected after the wedding they have just flourished and thrived...
Succulents all repotted and now it is time to get the garden beds fill with new soil and herbs and vegetables planted...
 Time to do the planting....
Looking forward to being able to pick and eat our produce in the next couple of months.  Hoping to spend more time outside in our garden in the coming months....
