UP TO SEE THE RED MOON.....

We managed to get up before sunrise to witness the moon solar eclipse.
It was the longest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century  and it took place on Friday night 27th July. takes p
The total phase of the blood moon lasted approximtely1 hour and 43 minutes, during which Earth's natural satellite  turned a spectacular red or ruddy-brown color. From start to finish, the entire celestial event lasted nearly 4 hours.
We probably would have missed it if we hadn't had ti get up early anyway as we were catching the train to Bundy to go and retrieve our poor sick car from down there....

We had a really good view of it from our front yardt, so we quickly set up the camera and tripod so tat we could at least get a few photos of it......

This amazing photo of the moon was taken down at the Capricorn Coast by one our our prominent photographers from the coast.  It was taken the evening before the eclipse, but it is such a stunning photo of the moon I just had to ave this on......

The three photos above were also taken by the same photographer,  Glenn Adamus .  You should check out his facebook page.  He has taken some amazing footage of our area.

Our footage with the moon and then Mars taken from our front yard...
