FIRES ONE WEEK AND MASSIVE STORMS THE NEXT.....

One week we are suffering from massive bushfires and the following week we have a massive storm.
Mind you I am thankful for this as it helped to ease the fires through the State.

On Tuesday afternoon as I went out to do my bush duty at school I noticed the clouds building in the sky.  The sky was already very dark, but in the half hour I was out doing my duty, the sky started turning to a real green and that's when I knew we were in for a whopping storm, hail and all.

I was pretty keen to get away from school and get the car under cover, so as soon as my last child left, I headed for the library to pick up my gear so that I could get out of there...

By the time I got back to the Library, the skies just opened up and it literally poured out.  Good sections of our communtiy had good sizes pieces of hail but thank goodness the hail we received in our area was not too bad and definitely not big enough to dint our vehicles.

The the thunder and lightning were powerful and the water just fell out of the sky making it impossible to leave and get to our cars.

Steve had a massage booked for 4pm and was a good 20 minutes late getting to it because he couldn't get to the car initially because of the viciousness of the storm.

I ended up getting stuck at work for an extra hour and then had to leave things behind which I had to pick up the following day because I just couldn't get it all out to my car in this weather...

The storm was pretty fierce but it was a welcome relief after all our heat and all of the fires..
It seems this storm might have broken the heat wave, although it wasn't going to do us much good as we were due to leave the following day to head off on our big adventure on the other side of the world.  It felt like we were jumping out of the frying pan and landing straight into the freezer.
