DENMARK AND ICELAND ADVENTURE 2018-2019
DAY 1 – WEDNESDAY 5TH
DECEMBER 2018
Well the big day has arrived… Today we
head off on our next adventure..
Steve still has work today but I have
taken the day off to finalise our suitcases, get a haircut and visit the
chiropractor before we leave so that hopefully my back will hold up for the big
flight over… I also wanted to clean the
house before we left so that it would be tidy when we got home. Didn’t bother dusting as I dust would all be
back before we got home and I would have to do it again anyway.
Steve was home by 3.15pm and then it was
a mad rush to make sure that the cars were parked ready for us to go, and the
house was all locked. We have had a massive
list of things to do before we left and we were able to tick them all off
before leaving. It felt good….
Eleonore picked us up just after 6pm to
drop us out to the airport to board our flight.
We were there in plenty of time so decided to grab a hot chocolate to
drink whilst we waited. We went through
security about 10 minutes before the boarding call was due, only to find out
once we got in there that our flight was being delayed. What we didn’t expect was that it was going
to be delayed for a couple of hours…
Apparently the plane we were due to
take off on, had hit some wildlife on the way into Rocky so therefore couldn’t
leave before it was checked out by an engineer.

We then had to wait for another flight
to arrive in from Brisbane before we could take off. So instead of leaving at 7.20pm like planned
it was after 9pm before we left which meant it was almost 10.30pm when we
arrived in Brissie and after 11pm when we got to Dan and Chloe's. We had a quick bite to eat as they had
organised dinner for us and then crawled into bed around midnight. We had hoped to have had an earlier night
considering we were not going to get much sleep the following night whilst
flying…
