DAY 9 & 10 - 13TH & 14TH DECEMBER, 2018

Another pretty chilled day today as Pete is still now well. It is also wet and cold so none of us are particularly in a hurry to go out doors.  We spent the morning in doors.  You could say that Theo is almost sleeping through the night in that even though it is midnight or 1am before he finally settles for the night, he will sleep through then till around 10am in the morning, which means that Steve and I usually have a late start to the day.  Steve will head up and make us a cuppa and some avocado on toast which we tend to eat down in the basement.  We tend to try and keep downstairs until we hear Maria and Theo up upstairs so as to give her as much sleep as possible.  This has been fine for us because it allows us some chill out time, time to read, etc.

I still have a little work to do on the christening gown for Theo so this afternoon Steve and I headed out for a walk to go and find a fabric and sewing shop so that we could pick up some little clips to fasten the blue sash that would be tied around Theo’s gown to indicate he was a boy for his Christening.
Heading out in the cold for a shop...
.

It was bitterly cold out and we left home around 3pm to go do our bit of shopping as well as some shopping for supplies for dinner.  In Copenhagen there are Nette Stores and Fotex Stores (supermarkets) on almost every block.  They are not as big as our chain supermarkets at home, but still a good size.  As most modes of transport here are either on foot or by bike, people tend to shop daily rather than do a big shop like we do at home….  Not sure whether that would work out more expensive or not….   I kind of figure the less often you go to the shops the less you are likely to spend.  I guess over here, people learn to be a little more disciplined and only buy what they absolutely need rather than picking up extra things.  Also they have to carry it home, so their load would become a little weighty if they have to carry it….
It was well and truly dark when we got back to Pete and Marias.  Pete cooked dinner tonight and we had home made pizzas.

It was pretty much a chilled out evening where we sat and watched a Christmas movie together.

Another lazy day dusted in Copenhagen…

Today is a busy day…. We have all Maria’s family arriving today in readiness for Theodore’s christening tomorrow.  We had shopping to do and baking to complete.

Making Aussie Sausage rolls
He loves to cook...
Our morning was spent organising shopping lists and for making fillings for the sandwiches which we were going to make at the church this evening…  Maria also had to come down to the bakery and collect the cakes they had ordered for the lunch after the service as well as the church hall key so that we could go and set up for the luncheon that evening….

Theo christened Hannah with his spew.. Didn't stop the girls from Theo cuddles
Maria’s Dad and sisters were to arrive in the afternoon, and Maria was going to wait for them to arrive so that we could use Maria’s Dad’s car to go and do the shopping since we had quite a shopping list….

Because we had all the family coming over for dinner, Pete decided to order take away pizza to have at home before walking up to the church to set up for the following day…
Setting the tables for lunch the following day

By the time we had dinner, and cleaned up and then all headed up to the church it was probably close to 9pm.  With so many hands helping it didn’t take long to move furniture, set up all the table and chairs, and decorate the tables, then it was time to make the sandwiches, and prepare as much food as we could for the following day.  It was a little after 10.30pm when we walked back home to Pete and Maria’s.  The other’s all made their way home to their perspective homes for the weekend.

It was close to midnight by the time we crawled into bed…
