DAY 28 – TUESDAY 1ST JANUARY, 2019…

After such a late evening, we well and truly slept in this morning not getting up until after 10am.  It is very easy to sleep in over here as the sun doesn’t rise until 8.30am and if it is overcast and dreary, the skies are still dull. 

Steve decided to cook us a lovely meal of bacon and eggs, spinach, sautéed tomatoes and mushrooms, with avocado and we had this for brunch….

As much as it was appreciated, the fat from cooking made a huge mess in the Kitchen and the kitchen literally had to be cleaned from top to bottom.  We felt a little bad as all we wanted to do was cook a nice breakfast for welcome in the New Year….

We really didn’t do a lot today, mainly just chilled out at home and started reorganising our suitcases so that we could leave stuff in Copenhagen and free up some room in our suitcases to pack food and some of Pete and Maria’s gear to head to Iceland.

We also tried to plan some meals for the week so that we could go shopping before leaving Copenhagen as we had heard that from Pete’s friends that food was very expensive in Iceland…

The shops are closed today as it is a public holiday, so it was good to plan today as tomorrow we plan to head out and do some shopping, we want to buy a few gifts from family and friends before we go to Iceland as we really only have one day left in Copenhagen before heading home to Australia.

It was nice to have a quieter day today, as we have pretty much been on the go since we went up to Jutland…

Tomorrow, we need to shop and we also need to pack…
