DAY 5 OF THE GRANDIES VISIT TO ROCKY..

We are fast running out of days with still so much to do and see.  I think a lot of it will be left until they visit us next time...

A trip to the Movies to see Wonder Park for the girls...
Willow had been invited out to the movies again this morning with a friend of ours and his grand daughter,  she was very happy to go with them.  They were a little spoilt by Ian also as he took them to Maccas for lunch afterwards before delivering Willow home...

I decided to take Max up to our Botanic Gardens to visit the Zoo.  I figured we had run out of time to take Willow, so I didn't want him to miss out also... He loves the zoo,  especially the Chimps... Capri our baby chimp is a year old now, but still a bundle of cuteness and this was our first pot of call....
There were heaps of people there so it was very hard for Max to get up close and have a proper look.

From the Chimps, we walked through the big bird aviay and then headed down to pay the kangaroos and emus a visit before heading off to find the wombats and koalas.

The zoo has added a new addition since I had last been. There is now a magnificent Wedge Tail Eagle.  Appartently I had been badly injured and is unable to fly now, so it has come to live at our Zoo.  Max was fascinated by it, but it was difficult to get photos of it because of the number of visitors visiting it.

The otters were the last lot of animals that we stopped to visit before heading down to the lagoon to feed the ducks and turtles.    We never did get near the turtles, there were ducks and birds everywhere.  All very tame and happy to come up and almost eat out from your hand...

By now it was lunch time, and we thought it best to head home, as Willow was due home around now, and I had planned to take them out to my friend Jenny's for a swim.
Max was a little reluctant to hop in the pool, but he loved Jenny's dogs, Ali and Bully and was happy to play with them...

Giving Ali a cuddle
Ali loves those cuddles...
Bully and Ali both there for a bit of TLC, and the kids were more than happy to give it.

We didn't get home until later in the afternoon, and we still hadn't taken the kids over to the New Kershaw Gardens for a play.  I was a little reluctant to take them on my own, as Max is still at the age where he gets excited and will run off.  I certainly didn't want to loose him...

So that they wouldn't miss out, we decided to pack a picnic dinner and just have a sausage sizzle at the park.  Steve packed his little portable gas BBQ in, we grabbed a pack of sausages, a loaf or bread and some sauce and headed to the park..

The kids had an absolute ball.... Sarah took them off for a play whilst Steve cooked dinner...
Cooking some snags for our dinner
Once they were all cooked I went and got Sarah and the children and then we had dinner....
After we finished out dinner, Steve and Sarah both took the kids back to the playground to play whilst I packed up dinner and then I went and joined them...
It was after 8pm before we left to go home.,  Way pass the children's bedtime, but they had a wonderful time.. Easy tea, no clean up and no mess at home...
It was straight home then and put the kids to bed....

A much quieter day planned for tomorrow.  Only one day left before we head south, so lots of washing to do, and the house to clean...  We still managed to have some fun though....
