DAY 2 - CHILLING OUT IN HERVEY BAY...

Although a pretty busy day in the Bay today, we have still felt pretty chilled out...
This morning Steve, Barb and I all went to the Hervey Bay Orchid Show for the morning....
Whilst I have no green thumbs, and if I was to plant these plants they would probably die,  I do love orchids and the wide variety of flowers there are in the orchid family.....  so I am more than happy to go check out an orchid show...
It seemed pretty good value,  $5 a head to get in which we were certainly not complaining about at all, but the real surprise was that when we paid for our tickets, we were informed that this also included a devonshire morning tea.... Sweet,  that was worth $5 alone...

A visit to the Orchid Show in Hervey Bay....
Barb and I admiring all the gorgeous orchids...

Be prepared for an orchid overload of photos....

Some of my favourite displays were all the Bromelias...
I love the colours and variations in these particular plants...
Around the other side of the hall were more spectacular displays of orchids...

After admiring and photographing all these gorgeous flowers it was time to go and collect our morning tea.  We were served amazing scones with jam and cream..... so delicious.
Our devonshire tea...
Then it was home for a quick bite to eat and to pick up John as we were all heading to the movies this afternoon to see the newly released movie "Ride like a Girl"....
A light lunch today...

Barb was a little disappointed that they would not let her use her National Seniors Card,  most other cinema complexes she has been too allows her to use it to get a Senior's discount... Not today, although really the theatre here really wasn't that badly priced at $9 each for seniors, and $13 for adults...

We settled in to watch the movie...
The movie was excellent, one of the best we have seen for a long while... it was based on a true story, so had lots of family emotion tied into it.  There was lots of laughter and at times we were almost bought to tears.  Definitely recommend this movie...
From here we decided to head home along the coast road.  It was such a beautiful afternoon.  As we got close to Scarness, we noticed a huge whale on the beach front made from reeds and bamboo...
Enzo's on the Beach
We enjoyed a lovely walk along the beach front and out along the jetty before heading to this gorgeous beach front restaurant called "Enzo's on the Beach" for a late afternoon cocktail and dips...

Such a lovely way to end a great day out together...
It really was quite a special day....
John was cooking dinner tonight and what a wonderful meal we had.... He made an amazing potato salad, along with a great green salad and that accompanied a lovely grilled chicken.  Totally delicious.  We had our dinner over at Barb and John's caravan and spent the evening reminiscing about our wonderful holiday we all went on together in 2017.  There was a lots of laughter and we were feeling so blessed for the wonderful friendship that we enjoy with these guys, and the wonderful opportunities we have had in our life....
